I bump up against a few of the qualifications to get one now but honestly? I’d rather be 64, overweight but not obese, and the worst chronic health problem I have is some allergies than qualify for a shot right now. I am registered and will get the shots when they call me.
I got my final vaccination at the State fairgrounds this morning. No problems from the Pzfer vaccine for me, but my nephew and brother in law ended up with sick stomachs from a different vaccine.
I have not been vaccinated but I don’t meet the City of Chicago criteria. I don’t mind waiting because I know people who are 65+ with health issues who have not been able to receive a vaccine. They go first.
I was very impressed with how the National Guards and nurses handled running the vaccination progress at the State Fairgrounds in Springfield. They should all be given a medal, or at least a thank you letter from our governor.
Eager! Still too young and healthy to qualify but have thought about waiting at the Sangamon Co Health Dept in one of their “leftover” parking spaces hoping to get an unclaimed doses. But with the President announcing all will be eligible May 1…. probably not worth my time to camp out hoping for a dose that may or may not materialize. Glad to report that my parents and in-laws as well as my grandparents have all been able get theirs.
My mom and mother in law have their second doses, my dad is waiting on his second, one daughter is a school teacher and has had both doses. My daughter who is in college out of state works at a grocery store and is scheduled for next Thursday. My wife is the only one we have not been able to get an appointment for.
I feel like the vaccinations have really started to gain momentum.
Not quite old enough and retired , so longer essential. Did notice that other states have dropped age to 50. President Biden announced last night that it will open to all adults soon. Fingers crossed; we will get our vaccine as soon as possible. Good news is that even older family members have been vaccinated.

Folks fully vaccinated. Can enter the house now, still wearing an N95 mask in case either is one of the unlucky 5-10% ineffective. I’d say 1/3 of their friends (similar age) haven’t been able to schedule a first dose yet (can’t say how hard they’re trying - we’ve offered to help)
Husband was contacted today to schedule first shot, which we promptly did. I haven’t received the same message yet. I was hoping to go together, but don’t want to jump in line of someone else.

Took the words right out of my mouth on both posts. I must have passed you there this morning. First shot my arm was sore enough to wake me up at night when I rolled over. 6 hours after my second dose my arm is already pretty stiff and sore.
We will see how the next day or two go.
Anyone who argues against government healthcare by implying they lack the organizational ability needs to see how smoothly things are working at the Orr Building. It is very impressive. Everyone is exceptionally polite and helpful the process is streamlined to perfection. I was there 25 minutes total and 15 of that was just making sure I didn’t have a reaction.
Two Pfizer me, two adult sons -two Pfizer/two Moderna, one essential worker -one high risk-Children’s mom and step dad both have had two Moderna. Pregnant daughter in law no vaccine. Will wait until after granddaughter’s birth. Feel fortunate and a sense of relief.

Got my second shot at Rush 8 days ago. Pfizer.
Rush was very well organized and the nurses, doctors and staff were great.
1C and waiting patiently. Also trying hard not to judge people I know who I thought were also in 1C who’ve possibly jumped the line. Not naming any names, but they know who they are.
Just turned 71. I have a bouquet of underlying conditions. Got my first Moderna shot February 12 by lucking into next-day appointment. No verification of anything. Showed up 25 minutes early, and was done in the waiting area ten minutes before my appointed time. The staff seem to like Fannie Mays.
waiting. hoping. glad lots of people are getting the shots. hoping that more will realize this is the only way we get out of the grip of the virus and vaccinate.
Got my second Moderna at SCDPH March 7. Qualified because of age. I fully agree with all the good things said about the vaccination sites. The nurses at SCDPH had me in and out in under a half an hour - including the 15 minute wait period. You never leave the car - they do 6 at a time in a tent.
So incredibly excited. Pfizer scheduled for St. Patty’s Day. Big Mike: Schaumburg Convention Center sponsored by Jewel-Osco and NW Townships. Finally, something in NW suburbs. Yay.
Received my second Pfizer dose 4 hours ago at the CVS in lovely Hoopston. A 2 hour drive but worth it. My wife receives her second dose next Friday closer to home.
