Received 1st Moderna dose 3/6. Expect 2nd dose on 4/3.

  6. - muon - Friday, Mar 12, 21 @ 3:01 pm:

I don’t qualify yet - 62, no underlying conditions, not an essential worker. I’ll get one as soon as I have the option.

  7. - zatoichi - Friday, Mar 12, 21 @ 3:02 pm:

    Second Moderna was Feb 17.

  8. - Cool Papa Bell - Friday, Mar 12, 21 @ 3:03 pm:

My parents are fully vaccinated. That matters the most to me.

Me - Sangamon County is doing a really good job. I figure the rest of us will get a chance at a jab by tax day.

  9. - Wensicia - Friday, Mar 12, 21 @ 3:04 pm:

I received my second dose, Pfizer, today. And I’m back in the classroom in a couple of weeks.

  10. - deacon geek - Friday, Mar 12, 21 @ 3:04 pm:

First (Pfizer) vaccine completed. Second scheduled for March 31.

  11. - L.A. - Friday, Mar 12, 21 @ 3:04 pm:

One down. 2nd shot on April 5th. I’m 45 and was able to get vaccinated under 1b+ because I smoke.

  12. - MakePoliticsCoolAgain - Friday, Mar 12, 21 @ 3:04 pm:

Second Pfizer dose scheduled for 3/26.

  16. - Proud Papa Bear - Friday, Mar 12, 21 @ 3:07 pm:

Got my second shot an hour and a half ago then treated myself to a shamrock shake.
I am so thankful for our scientists.

  17. - L.A. - Friday, Mar 12, 21 @ 3:08 pm:

I got the Moderna shot. Sangamon County Health Dept on South Grand. Very efficient process. Very impressive.

  18. - Cheryl44 - Friday, Mar 12, 21 @ 3:08 pm:

I bump up against a few of the qualifications to get one now but honestly? I’d rather be 64, overweight but not obese, and the worst chronic health problem I have is some allergies than qualify for a shot right now. I am registered and will get the shots when they call me.

  19. - OneMan - Friday, Mar 12, 21 @ 3:09 pm:

    Both, Pfizer

  20. - Mama - Friday, Mar 12, 21 @ 3:09 pm:

I got my final vaccination at the State fairgrounds this morning. No problems from the Pzfer vaccine for me, but my nephew and brother in law ended up with sick stomachs from a different vaccine.

  21. - City Guy - Friday, Mar 12, 21 @ 3:10 pm:

I have not been vaccinated but I don’t meet the City of Chicago criteria. I don’t mind waiting because I know people who are 65+ with health issues who have not been able to receive a vaccine. They go first.

  22. - Proud Sucker - Friday, Mar 12, 21 @ 3:13 pm:

First shot 3/5 at Moosehart. 2nd scheduled for 4/1 same place.

  23. - Stu - Friday, Mar 12, 21 @ 3:13 pm:

Tomorrow at 11:30am will be 2 weeks post 2nd Moderna. Getter closer to “normal”.

1st dose done, second scheduled for March 27th.

  25. - Mama - Friday, Mar 12, 21 @ 3:14 pm:

I was very impressed with how the National Guards and nurses handled running the vaccination progress at the State Fairgrounds in Springfield. They should all be given a medal, or at least a thank you letter from our governor.

  26. - state worker - Friday, Mar 12, 21 @ 3:14 pm:

Got my first dose of the vaccine on March 1…..tested positive with COVID March 5. No symptoms.

  27. - SAP - Friday, Mar 12, 21 @ 3:15 pm:

Not yet, still too young and healthy and I don’t want to take up smoking.

  28. - obiter dictum - Friday, Mar 12, 21 @ 3:15 pm:

    2nd Pfizer scheduled for tomorrow

  29. - Oswego Willy - Friday, Mar 12, 21 @ 3:18 pm:

    None scheduled.

No status by which to schedule.

So happy for so many around and close to me who have had the vaccine.

  30. - Norseman - Friday, Mar 12, 21 @ 3:20 pm:

One Moderna down with one to go in a few weeks.

  31. - SuburbanWoman - Friday, Mar 12, 21 @ 3:23 pm:

Eager! Still too young and healthy to qualify but have thought about waiting at the Sangamon Co Health Dept in one of their “leftover” parking spaces hoping to get an unclaimed doses. But with the President announcing all will be eligible May 1…. probably not worth my time to camp out hoping for a dose that may or may not materialize. Glad to report that my parents and in-laws as well as my grandparents have all been able get theirs.

  32. - Blake - Friday, Mar 12, 21 @ 3:23 pm:

    Not yet eligible

  33. - Fav Human - Friday, Mar 12, 21 @ 3:23 pm:

Waiting for my doctor to tell me. They did send me a note saying that they would inform me when I can get it and where.

  34. - Occasionally Moderated - Friday, Mar 12, 21 @ 3:24 pm:

    I’m fully vaxxed!

My mom and mother in law have their second doses, my dad is waiting on his second, one daughter is a school teacher and has had both doses. My daughter who is in college out of state works at a grocery store and is scheduled for next Thursday. My wife is the only one we have not been able to get an appointment for.

I feel like the vaccinations have really started to gain momentum.

  35. - RNUG - Friday, Mar 12, 21 @ 3:25 pm:

Mrs & I have both had first shot of Moderna. Just waiting for the clock to tick down for the second dose in about 2 weeks.

  36. - JoanP - Friday, Mar 12, 21 @ 3:27 pm:

Ar Walgreens right now, about to get my second shot (Moderna).

  37. - Boomerang - Friday, Mar 12, 21 @ 3:29 pm:

On a waiting list under 1c

  40. - Joe Bidenopolous - Friday, Mar 12, 21 @ 3:34 pm:

    1C

  41. - Tired Teacher - Friday, Mar 12, 21 @ 3:34 pm:

Not quite old enough and retired , so longer essential. Did notice that other states have dropped age to 50. President Biden announced last night that it will open to all adults soon. Fingers crossed; we will get our vaccine as soon as possible. Good news is that even older family members have been vaccinated.

  42. - Simply Sayin' - Friday, Mar 12, 21 @ 3:36 pm:

    One down, one to go.

  43. - lake county democrat - Friday, Mar 12, 21 @ 3:37 pm:

Folks fully vaccinated. Can enter the house now, still wearing an N95 mask in case either is one of the unlucky 5-10% ineffective. I’d say 1/3 of their friends (similar age) haven’t been able to schedule a first dose yet (can’t say how hard they’re trying - we’ve offered to help)

  44. - Metric Man - Friday, Mar 12, 21 @ 3:38 pm:

Got my second Moderna in mid-Feb. All core family over 18 have at least their first and will be done by end of March.

  45. - Grandson of Man - Friday, Mar 12, 21 @ 3:38 pm:

Halfway there. Almost to the point where I can expect significant protection from the first dose while awaiting the second.

  46. - Banish Misfortune - Friday, Mar 12, 21 @ 3:39 pm:

Two Moderna, a bit wiped out after second dose. One down Pfizer for my 100 yo mother.

  47. - Curious citizen - Friday, Mar 12, 21 @ 3:40 pm:

Got my second Pfizer shot at the Orr Building on the fairgrounds this morning.

  48. - Dan Johnson - Friday, Mar 12, 21 @ 3:40 pm:

Nothing yet. Maybe in April. And before Biden, I thought I’d be lucky to get one in the summer.

  49. - Dog Lover - Friday, Mar 12, 21 @ 3:42 pm:

Husband was contacted today to schedule first shot, which we promptly did. I haven’t received the same message yet. I was hoping to go together, but don’t want to jump in line of someone else.

  50. - SomeGuy - Friday, Mar 12, 21 @ 3:42 pm:

    - Mama - Friday, Mar 12, 21 @ 3:09 pm:

I got my final vaccination at the State fairgrounds this morning. No problems from the Pzfer vaccine for me, but my nephew and brother in law ended up with sick stomachs from a different vaccine.

    - Mama - Friday, Mar 12, 21 @ 3:14 pm:

I was very impressed with how the National Guards and nurses handled running the vaccination progress at the State Fairgrounds in Springfield. They should all be given a medal, or at least a thank you letter from our governor.

Took the words right out of my mouth on both posts. I must have passed you there this morning. First shot my arm was sore enough to wake me up at night when I rolled over. 6 hours after my second dose my arm is already pretty stiff and sore.

We will see how the next day or two go.

Anyone who argues against government healthcare by implying they lack the organizational ability needs to see how smoothly things are working at the Orr Building. It is very impressive. Everyone is exceptionally polite and helpful the process is streamlined to perfection. I was there 25 minutes total and 15 of that was just making sure I didn’t have a reaction.

  51. - jackmac - Friday, Mar 12, 21 @ 3:43 pm:

Done. Second Pfizer shot came in mid-February. Now hoping my 20-something kids can get their vaccinations soon.

  52. - Almost retired - Friday, Mar 12, 21 @ 3:44 pm:

Two Pfizer me, two adult sons -two Pfizer/two Moderna, one essential worker -one high risk-Children’s mom and step dad both have had two Moderna. Pregnant daughter in law no vaccine. Will wait until after granddaughter’s birth. Feel fortunate and a sense of relief.

  53. - Back to the Future - Friday, Mar 12, 21 @ 3:44 pm:

Got my second shot at Rush 8 days ago. Pfizer.
Rush was very well organized and the nurses, doctors and staff were great.

  54. - 47th Ward - Friday, Mar 12, 21 @ 3:45 pm:

1C and waiting patiently. Also trying hard not to judge people I know who I thought were also in 1C who’ve possibly jumped the line. Not naming any names, but they know who they are.

  55. - thoughts matter - Friday, Mar 12, 21 @ 3:51 pm:

One down, one to go. National Guard very organized at state fairgrounds.

  56. - Leslie K - Friday, Mar 12, 21 @ 3:52 pm:

    Both doses complete (Pfizer)

  57. - Langhorne - Friday, Mar 12, 21 @ 3:58 pm:

Just turned 71. I have a bouquet of underlying conditions. Got my first Moderna shot February 12 by lucking into next-day appointment. No verification of anything. Showed up 25 minutes early, and was done in the waiting area ten minutes before my appointed time. The staff seem to like Fannie Mays.

  58. - Chicago Cynic - Friday, Mar 12, 21 @ 4:01 pm:

Got my first shot of Pfizer this week.

  59. - Lt Guv - Friday, Mar 12, 21 @ 4:04 pm:

Yep, got my flu shot last fall. Also, had the 2nd Moderna last Thursday.

  60. - Flying Elvis'-Utah Chapter - Friday, Mar 12, 21 @ 4:10 pm:

Second dose over two weeks ago, Moderna.

Southern Seven Health Department, thank you.

  61. - Amalia - Friday, Mar 12, 21 @ 4:13 pm:

waiting. hoping. glad lots of people are getting the shots. hoping that more will realize this is the only way we get out of the grip of the virus and vaccinate.

  62. - CG - Friday, Mar 12, 21 @ 4:14 pm:

Not eligible yet. Hope what Biden says about May 1st for everyone will be true but have my doubts that IL will actually be able to do that.

  63. - Rachel - Friday, Mar 12, 21 @ 4:18 pm:

Got my second Moderna at SCDPH March 7. Qualified because of age. I fully agree with all the good things said about the vaccination sites. The nurses at SCDPH had me in and out in under a half an hour - including the 15 minute wait period. You never leave the car - they do 6 at a time in a tent.

  64. - jcmchs - Friday, Mar 12, 21 @ 4:19 pm:

    still waiting in Will County

  65. - Bruce( no not him) - Friday, Mar 12, 21 @ 4:20 pm:

First Moderna down. One to go, next week.

  66. - Blanche - Friday, Mar 12, 21 @ 4:23 pm:

So incredibly excited. Pfizer scheduled for St. Patty’s Day. Big Mike: Schaumburg Convention Center sponsored by Jewel-Osco and NW Townships. Finally, something in NW suburbs. Yay.

  67. - bogey golfer - Friday, Mar 12, 21 @ 4:24 pm:

Received my second Pfizer dose 4 hours ago at the CVS in lovely Hoopston. A 2 hour drive but worth it. My wife receives her second dose next Friday closer to home.
    WOOT-WOOT!!!!!

  68. - Steve Polite - Friday, Mar 12, 21 @ 4:37 pm:

Scheduled for first dose of Moderna vaccine at Sangamon County Public Health.

  69. - JS Mill - Friday, Mar 12, 21 @ 4:39 pm:
