I’d like to think that following pandemic guidelines like social distancing and masking kept me safe pre-vaccination, as I didn’t catch COVID (to my knowledge).
Remembering Chicago native Ray Manzarek today, on the eight year anniversary of his passing. He had a life changing chance meeting on the beach with his former classmate:
“Whatcha up to, Jim?”
“Writing some songs.”
“Lay them on me.”
“Let’s swim to the moon, uh huh, let’s climb through the tide. Penetrate the evening that the city sleeps to hide.”
It quit raining; sun is shining. Family are all healthy.
Just finished breakfast with Mrs RNUG. Last night celebrated 37 years with my best friend at Capone’s. Life is good.

This is no time to let up on mask-wearing and restrictions, no matter what the CDC and Governor says. Even if you’re fully vaccinated. The India variant has reached central Illinois as a case was reported in Bloomington:

Going well.
Been out to dinner with old friends a couple of times. Haven’t seen some of these folks in person in well over a year.
Three of them have sold their houses at very high prices and moving out of Illinois. Another fellow is going to permanently work from home and is looking to move too.
Most of the folks I know that have moved or planning to move are older and going to warmer climates.
Really happy to actually get to see people in person and catch up.
One thing I did notice is that we all were vaccinated, our families were vaccinated and we all were still wearing masks.

A beautiful day here in Central Illinois. Windows are open and there is a breeze. Starting to do get togethers with friends and family. Only problem is that all the rain has brought the weed seeds to life in my landscaping around the house. Gotta go weed before we get any additional moisture.

===Have we fired TLR yet? ===
Brings back memories of Cardinals message boards after a loss, where at least someone would say “Fire LaRussa.”
ChrisB, Ducky, we’re in first place. Stop whining.
- Last Bull Moose - Thursday, May 20, 21 @ 1:34 pm:
Going to a dedication of a small memorial to people from Naperville killed in the War on Terror. Hard to remember those days when Americans stood united against a common threat.

The rest as they say is history.

Cue Thanos meme.
“But what did it cost?”
“…everything.”

“We’re in first place.”
And he was given the keys to the whole thing. He could get another DUI and lose the entire clubhouse, it doesn’t matter. He is Jerry’s boy.

That’s truly something to celebrate, and celebrate every day.
