I’m linking to an article about Calumet City’s elected city clerk, Nyota Figgs, who is working in a park because she finds the environment at city hall a hostile place, and she says she’s been stripped of her statutory duties. The same two things happened to me as clerk, specifically: 1. Illegally reassigning the statutory duties of clerk; and 2. Abuse to try to make the clerk resign. I know other clerks this has happened to as well. They generally do resign. These actions cheat voters of their clerk, and they’re a marker for administrations that don’t play by the rules.
Another insanely humid morning. Oh, and #FreeMisterJayM

The Big Baby is killing it in his return. Robert did well yesterday in his return. We were far ahead in first place without those two. Now that they’re back, wow, exciting times.
Tom DeVore’s lawsuit yesterday. In footnote 4, he says ” … Pritzker constantly gaslights the public … .” For legislative histories, he includes page prints from ilga.gov. C+ … for a middle school student’s essay assignment.
oh what a week. sweep the Cubs, on national tv…network tv….on Sunday night, ESPN on Monday, You Tube on Wednesday, and Fox Network on Thursday with what will be an emotional heart tugging announcement of the teams from inside the cornfield. so weird to hear folks on the Score…Cubs radio….not just complaining about all the LaRussa love from ESPN (which continued last night) but super trolling the Cubs with an epic mash up of all the weekend highlights. between all that and several Cubs fans pals leaving that orbit last year because of the Cubs Trump connects, things are changing mightily including because of the power on the field.
===administrations that don’t play by the rules.===
I think you would find that most administrations be it cities, counties, school districts, state agencies, universities, and federal agencies all try to not play by the rules if the rules get in their way. There are a few exceptions, but they are few and far between.

I haven’t seen much about it but apparently Lightfoot had officers turn their backs to her at the hospital.
The family of the officer said she shouldn’t come and she did anyway.
Not sure how I feel about this. She has to lead but also she is furthering the divide. Tough situation.

This might have to go next level. We need his twittering back.
Also, it’s steamy out there. Went for a a run, nearly every home had outside condensation on the windows. Yikes.

I’m not on Twitter, have they banned MisterJayEm?
Commonwealth Edison is asking we use less electricity this afternoon from 2-6. I may go see a movie.

“have they banned MisterJayEm?” His account has been suspended, although I (and last I heard he) have no idea why.
