The Chatham school board meeting last night was sad. Lots of misinformation about masks, a member comparing mask wearing to child abuse and a member seen in public with a three percenter logo on a shirt. It’s all very troubling for this parent.
I hardly never tune into WMAY in the mornings but I happen to this morning when Avery Bourne was on the air with Greg Bishop. She was going on about the Governor and his rulings and how his overreach is taking all local control away from school districts. Then Bishop opens up the phone lines and people start calling in and it’s the misinformation highway. Of course he’s on the bandwagon that the Big Bad Governor is out of line. This must be what that Amy Jacobson show sounds like in Chicago. It’s about saving lives Bishop not control.
Still fuming over Amy Jacobson from yesterday. I just don’t understand how saving people’s lives is so bad. I’m about ready to say to anyone who was able to get a vaccine and didn’t, and then needs medical care when they get Delta, to just take two aspirin and go home to die.
=== Avery Bourne was on the air with Greg Bishop. She was going on about the Governor and his rulings and how his overreach is taking all local control away from school districts.===
Is Avery Bourne anti-mask?
Asking. I don’t know. If you heard the show, what was the explanation.
- IT Data Guy - I hear you. Thankfully this is tiny, tiny minority of our residents, just vocal. Big Thank You to our Gov for resolving for school boards around the state.
More active duty cops died of Covid 19 in 2020 than all other causes combined. The national FOP understands what’s at stake here. Maybe someone should enlighten Catanzara. Back the vax.
From listening to the show. She didn’t sound anti-mask as much as she sounded anti-Governor and Governor control. She went on about the Governor and his mask mandate for the schools and now everyone in general plus the vaccine mandate.
If these people are so against the Governor and his control with the mask mandate. Then are they against the Republican Governors and their No mask mandate rules for schools in Florida and Texas?
Asking. I don’t know. If you heard the show, what was the explanation.===
She isn’t anti-mask. She is, as are many others in her district, pro-choice, meaning if you want to wear a mask then do it, and don’t wear one if you don’t. It’s a sad reality.
“She isn’t anti-mask. She is, as are many others in her district, pro-choice, meaning if you want to wear a mask then do it, and don’t wear one if you don’t. It’s a sad reality.”
Republicans always used to tell me that being pro-choice was actually being pro-death. Being pro-choice on mask wearing is being anti-mask.

Bourne has reached her limit in public service. She may move higher in the House GOP caucus but she has proved time after time, she has no interest in leading but simply wants to keep the loud mouth, uneducated anti progress anti Chicago gang in her camp. She may as well be the Mayor of Litchfield and call it good.
Nothing unique or special, brought in by Rauner, voted Rauner consistently, hurting her district, hurting the region… anyone could’ve voted Raunerite like she did… she hasn’t stood out in any way that makes her existence in the House… standing out…
… except when she had the lone oratory to abortion.
That’s was Bourne finally showing… something… that might resemble something unique to her.
Now, if y’all are telling me Bourne is “pro-choice” to wearing a mask in a global pandemic where spread to others, globally, is hurt by wearing a mask… and I pair that to being so vocally “pro-life”….
Like I said, in the end, anyone coulda been appointed, they just needed to be a Raunerite, and being pedestrian isn’t necessary bad, or even good, but it’s not anything the Body would miss or been served differently had she not been first appointed.

It’s always fun when conservatives call something “pro-choice” as if it’s some clever clapback as opposed to the actuality that it’s a sad combination of trolling and grasping at straws.
I had to wear pants to go out in public today. Get over it.

Only 256 people got vaccinated during the entire State Fair:
(Story from Channel 7 in Quincy but it’s essentially a Channel 20 story–and they’re now speculating whether local cases will increase due to the fair).

Tragedy in Kankakee. At least 2 confirmed deaths after a shooting at the Kankakee County Courthouse.
Club J, the “misinformation highway” started when Bourne talked about Maps and the Bipartisan Commission. You know, the procedure that gives the GOP a luck of the draw 50/50 chance of redrawing the maps with no Democratic input. Something that is almost never discussed, except here.

I really… REALLY… don’t think you see the real irony of that description to Bourne’s “right to choose” to wear a mask and…
It *is* sad, and quite pathetic since masks saves lives but “freedom and ‘Merica”… and “Choice”?
No words.
