Congratulations White Sox and White Sox fans, pretty solid weekend for you, the Cubs only bright spot was the 7-0 win Saturday, a lone score for a touchdown, then good defense.
The Sox winning Friday 17-13, the Cubs couldn’t get it in the end zone enough and 13 unanswered points didn’t help. It’s a 4 quarter game, Cubs
Joking aside, 13-1 yesterday, the pummeling thankfully ended but the questions remain for the National League club that got spanked by their junior circuit counterpart.
I was always glad and in favor of the Cubs “trading them all”, that hasn’t changed, but the 25 that are playing for the big club have quit on “Rossie”, and he needs to go.
Also, good riddance to Javy Baez. A head case, unlimited talent, no discipline, which use to only apply to the plate appearances and fielding but now has leaked to interaction with fans and “thumbs down” retorts to fans. Addition by subtraction, glad Baez is gone. It’s not an “old school vs. new skool” kinda take, you can’t take on fans in overt taunting and engaging in a negative image of himself or the club to the fans. Then again, it’s New York… but even in Queens, show class as a ball player.
Never thought I’d pity the Cubs.
Nice field though.

Despite the statewide mask mandate restarting today, Mayor Langfelder has declined to consider issuing additional Springfield city mask mandates or enforcement (although City Council had previously opted not to renew the mayor’s emergency declarations powers).
Of course, I don’t live in Springfield and whom they elect as mayor shouldn’t concern me (other than when I have to deal with city infrastructure and diapidated streets when driving to/from work, church, and other places). But I don’t care if it’s from the far left, far right, or in between, hopefully Springfield gets a different mayor in May 2023.
I’m vaccinated and hope everyone will to get us out of this mess but it seems like a judge in Pilsen is going too far by denying visitation to a mother on the basis of not being vaccinated. His term ends in 2024. Based on this ruling I will not vote to retain him.
In this case, it’s a lack of action that had consequences for the mother who isn’t allowed to possibly put her child in harm’s way.

Springfield mayors and city government leaders have never missed a chance to show they have the mentality of Mayberry and make sure they display it at every chance.
Same thing with Springfield area lodging and dining establishment owners. They love them some Chicago area lawmaker and lobbyist money but make sure they blast away at Democrats, Liberals and Chicago just as soon those types walk out their front doors.

Read the article. She is quoted saying her Dr. told her due to her condition she should not take the vaccine. I guess this judge moonlights as a Dr.? Talk about authoritarian.

watched the first few innings of Sox yesterday and then had to take a call from a person who really needed to vent about life, death, illness. so the rest of the game was on mute. with me pumping my fist in the air. such joy. hoping they have it all together now, although Engel still out.

Shouldn’t have happened in the first place. The hearing was about child support, and, for no apparent reason, he asked her about her vax status. No notice, no nothing, he takes away her custody rights. Frankly, I think a complaint to the Judicial Inquiry Board would not be out of order.
@JoanP Just read that article. Agree, some sort of disciplinary action needs to occur if not disbarred. If people support this judge’s initial decision they need to realize this needs to be decided by the legislative body not some one-off judicial decree. The judge doesn’t even give a reason for overturning his own ruling. Looks like a publicity stunt that backfired which hurts the credibility of the court system. He has a brighter future being an MSNBC talking head than a judge

I saw online last night comments from a past classmate. they went to Walgreens in Springfield & were denied entrance so went to another store that didn’t care he wouldn’t e=wear a mask & it was fine. got what he wanted. He and others bragged about this and say they are continuing to do this. Id like to know those stores that don’t care because they wont get my business. I am immunocompromised & rarely shop- but this is reckless.
