I don’t understand carving out ambulance/transportation claims from managed care.
- Anonymous - Tuesday, Aug 31, 21 @ 5:13 pm:
All that is being carved out from managed care is claims processing. No people are being carved out. Also, HFS moved 75% of ambulance claims processing back to fee for service in april to facilitate an enhanced medicaid match program. this bill simply moves the remaining 25% to fee for service.

Anonymous is wrong. Nothing simple about this and it’s going to be very bad for Medicaid recipients who need these services.

It doesn’t make any sense to carve this out and it’s going to be harder for Medicaid members. And it’s not a simple claims processing answer. Wonder what other reason there could be?

It actually is as simple as a claims processing issue. Ask any ambulance provider in the state what their biggest problem is with Medicaid/MCO’s. This will not in any way harm recipients and anything to the contrary is scare tactics. It actually helps and will make ambulance transport easier for those on Medicaid who need it.
