We all know that mid term elections are historically rough on the sitting presidents party. 2022 will be no different. My early prediction is Illinois will see an upset despite gerrymandering.

I had to put on long pants and sweatshirt this morning. Not ready for cool weather.
You know what’s sticking in my craw? People who keep buying into the snake oil Tom DeVore is selling.
A friend told me he released a live video last night and was mad. I watched it and he was going on about the Illinois Department of Public Health’s new guidelines the released.
It’s tyranny and they should all be in prison for taking away your constitutional rights he said over and over. He compared it to Russia and China. Then challenged everyone to bring the State to its knees. He said Attorney’s out there are you tired of this yet? Get together and fight this. He went on yelling and cussing saying the same things over and over. Then he said I’ve got to many other things to do. He ended the video. He had close to 600 comments last night from mostly people praising him and wanting his help.
I went back I listened to parts of the video again and I got to thinking which I could be way off here. Did the IDPH do in this lates set of emergency guidelines actually shut him down and he’s just being a sore loser? So he’s making it look like there’s still a fight, but he doesn’t have the time anymore.
I kept waiting for him to start selling miracle water at the end of his rant last night. Like Jim Bakker.
I, along with most Sox fans, was born with SWS(Sox Worry Syndrome). Their play since the All Star break has only aggravated my condition and sleepwalking through September playing dead in Detroit has me terrified of what is to come.
Can anyone help a fellow Sox fan? And don’t try to make me feel better by talking about the Cubs; I’ve already used up all the benefits of their irrelevance.
I saw clips from the Stones warmup concert at a private party for Robert Kraft at Gillette Stadium. Two things bother me. First, the Stones playing a private party for Robert Kraft. Yucch.
Second, while nobody can replace Charlie Watts, I’m not sure Steve Jordan is the right guy. No swing in his playing.

Couldn’t be prouder of Kerri Steele. She made history be defeating a white woman of great privilege to be the first African American to hold the Office of President of the MWRD. Now she is poised to defeat a white male of great wealth to become the first African American to hold the title Cook County Assessor.
A month or two ago I never really thought I would be talking about the Cardinals having a 10 game winning streak and contending for a wild card slot in the playoffs. But then, if you are a life long fan you realize that this is what the game is all about.
Just saw it was announced that Penny Pritzker is donating $100 million to a Harvard economics building project. Harvard is sitting on an endowment over $40 billion right now.
Would like the economics dept to study if there is any less impactful charitable donation a billionaire could make.

I got my letter that my Ohio Pandemic unemployment insurance is ending sept. 4th.
Identity theft for unemployment isn’t only an Illinois problem.
well I was just gonna say Sox problems, but Stones played for Kraft? yuk. and the chemist/politics is a family business person running for Assessor, oh wait, I forgot, I’m supposed to not see that. and now I’m wondering how we define white woman of great privilege.
Frustrated by trying to navigate my way through Safari and iPhone without teenage children to assist.
No matter how hard I try to follow the directions I end up messing it up.
I’ve been in tech _ell for over a month now.
Anyone know of any good technology resources for seniors?
Devo is probably one of the most underrated bands of all time. The name is awesome (and presciently accurate) and their music is awesome. Thanks for sharing the SNL clip. Great stuff.
Obviously not an IL issue but really struggling with immigration, with the Haitans being the news of the day. Nobody seems willing to face the real issue - what number of people do you want to let into the country and on what grounds? The idea that the Haitians are asylum seekers seems farfetched - as I understand there is not such thing as “economic refugees” instead must prove persecution due to who/what you are (race, religion, etc). But its heartbreaking to know that people in the world are so bad off. I have no answers but I’d prefer the politicians and pundits either provide concrete proposals or confess they don’t have one.
Watched Devo at Riot Fest last weekend. So weird seeing kids that hadnt even been born when they were popular walking around with those red planter hats on their heads.
Sure 100 mil would really help hospitals expand icu capacity and save lives, but the economics department at Harvard really needs that new building. Thank God for Penny.

Amen. But seriously, try googling your symptoms, like “why does my iPhone go black when I start safari?” You’d be surprised how close it can get. Lots of people have your problem, whatever it is.

No. Having problems with my Mac and my iPhone - both.
Spinning beachballs, duplicate photos, accidentally deleting apps, geo-locator thinks I’m in Kansas,, etc., etc.,etc.
If you can imagine it, I’ve done it. Google only helps me dig a deeper hole.
I probably have a direct line to Apple by now and my very own seat at the store.
Need to hire someone.
A teenager.

I’m not sure what prompted the post, but it was a great reminder how shocking they were.
