great sun times story today about Aaron Rogers reaction after running for a 6 year touchdown yesterday at Soldier Field. Basically, he said he owns the Bears (it was a little more colorful). classic.
anyone else notice Alexi’s “congrats Sky” championship tweet only listed the male owners by name and didn’t celebrate any of the actual players? did that just read weird to me?
wow, that Sky comeback was amazing. thought they were down and back to Phoenix. You could see the will on Candace Parker’s face, she did not get down, she pulled them up. Fantastic passing by Vandersloot, some clutch buckets, really exciting game. Fun listening to Copper accepting her MVP and getting bleeped. what a playoff run.
Springfield’s tv channel 20 used “recorded earlier” for its newscast last night and this morning. I know it’s pretty boring in central Illinois, surely there was a chili cook off, cat stuck in a tree etc to report on.
Yesterday started off bad in sports world with the Bears’ typical loss to the Packers but ended on the highest note. Congrats to the Chicago Sky for winning the WNBA title and a great comeback victory.
Amalia, that’s what made it weirder! he appeared to be at the game with his daughters (posted a photo). It was an exciting comeback, you’d think the very specific players you mentioned would be top of mind in that moment.
Anyway, I’ve spent too much time thinking about this.

Mayor Lightfoot was pictured not wearing her mask indoors at the Sky game.
Where did you volunteer? I didn’t this year, as the place where I usually work decided to sit this one out.
We went to sites ranging from Beverly to Rogers Park, Englewood, Back of the Yards, Ukrainian Village, and Bronzeville. Had a fabulous time, and it was nice that the weather co-operated.
JoanP: 110 N Wacker. This was their first year. It’s just north of the opera house, which I’ve done before but they didn’t do it because the Joffrey did matinees this weekend. It’s a great building. They had the top floor (55) open because it hasn’t been rented yet and is all raw space and giant windows.
A few weeks ago, staff at my school rallied (during school hours) to protest COVID testing.
One of the protesters has since resigned.
Really owned the libs on that one.
What’s up with the Sun Times website? Keep getting “504 Gateway Time-out” message.

Meanwhile, at Channel 20’s buddies at the SJ-R, late prewritten “news” at least 2 days after it happened and was first reported on Capitol Fax or other sources is not a “bug” or a “ransomware attack,” it’s a feature. And you pay rip off prices for it.

In the public dispute about the Bears’ ownership, it’s telling that there’s been no denial — or even a comment — from the McCaskeys.

Bears fans, you can get mad at Rodgers, but you can’t call him a liar.

@Humboldt, guess he’s not following the team since he did not name the women playing. Alexi is following the money. so not shocking.
