Looks like a likely right-leaning commenter introduced the terms “hype” and “hyperbole” when describing the left several days ago, entertainingly enough, regarding a poll roughly about “is our democracy in peril”. It must have really struck a nerve because I see those terms being co-opted quite heavily since then. Even from the editor of this site. Well done.
Read today’s Dale Bowman column in the sports pages of the Sun Times. It’s his usual fantastic outdoors writing but today’s “Stray Cast” has a most hilarious baseball comment. Laughing so hard….
Beautiful outside for February. Got my grandkids home courtesy of DeVore and company. School dropped mask mandate. Going to make the best of a bad decision. Have a nice day
is the Patrick Daley Thompson case being live blogged? because when a prosecution witness is overheard at a lunch talking to other witnesses who have not testified yet that is problematic. and interesting.

Springfield 186 board member Erica Austin is calling out the Central State 8 for a lack of diversity in the officiating crews used at the recent City Tournament. Only one game out of 7 had an African-American official:
Jacob Meisener is tweeting from the Federal courthouse, where they are also keeping the Com Ed grand jury info secret longer. the PDThompson stuff is riveting.
I thought last month was as surreal as any I’ve experienced over 20+ years in public education. I thought it couldn’t possibly get any more over the top.

Closely following the Daley Thompson trial.
Depending on which side you believe, either Thompson is incompetent when it comes to money, or he intentionally deceived the IRS.
Makes it a toss up as to whether he should take the stand.

I see it 36 outside in Chicago means some of that snow that fell last week is going to melt. And no more dibs by Friday!

Then, Monday, February 7th, 2022 arrived.
And then I realized how wrong I was.

Any guesses on when state workers currently working from home will have to go back to the office? Think it’ll be department head discretion?

I only was out of the office about 2 months during the stay-at-home order before we were back in the office daily. Been back in the office since.
