Things are tough out there for working bands.

Awesome. White Sox 3, Seattle 2. Time to get a new jersey but who to get? #7? #79? #88? This team is just so stacked with awesome players and personalities ifs hard to narrow it down to one guy.

All good here in the 618… waiting for the storms to arrive. Keep an eye on the sky today/tonight

  4. - Dankakee - Wednesday, Apr 13, 22 @ 8:53 am:

Luis Robert. That’s it. That’s the post.

Going to see the Sox this weekend with the family. Everyone is excited about the team and looking forward to a day at the ball park.
Thinking this is going to be a very good year for Sox fans.

Pouring on the north side. POURING (banned punctuation)

At the risk of putting a curse on the Cubs, I never dreamed of a 3-1 start.

  8. - Give Me A Break - Wednesday, Apr 13, 22 @ 9:05 am:

Shaping up to be goofy day of Spring weather here in the 217. Our well is now full and I’m shopping for a combine to mow the yard Friday.

  9. - James the Intolerant - Wednesday, Apr 13, 22 @ 9:05 am:

I agree with Dankakee. #88 is the jersey.

  10. - Amalia - Wednesday, Apr 13, 22 @ 9:19 am:

88 (banned punctuation). It’s not about the Interstate.

  11. - 32nd Ward Roscoe Village - Wednesday, Apr 13, 22 @ 9:40 am:

Opened my roof windows to get some fresh air this morning; had to run close them when the downpours started. Good news: my office goes back finally on Monday. Was in loop yesterday and it definitely seems busier.

  12. - MG85 - Wednesday, Apr 13, 22 @ 9:50 am:

So grateful session is over just in time…for…primary season.

  13. - Annonin' - Wednesday, Apr 13, 22 @ 9:56 am:

Very nice to see ALbert go yard for STL. If all the geezers stay healthy it could be a fun year.

  14. - thechampaignlife - Wednesday, Apr 13, 22 @ 9:58 am:

Let’s hope the amount of water we get today pales in comparison to the Chicago flood 30 years ago today.

  15. - Gruntled University Employee - Wednesday, Apr 13, 22 @ 10:17 am:

I celebrated a dubious anniversary yesterday. It’s been 10 years, and 50 pounds, since my heart attack. Take care of yourselves, stress and poor dietary choices can kill you, I was only 44 at the time and now I’m in better shape than when I graduated high school.

  16. - NonAFSCMEStateEmployeeFromChatham - Wednesday, Apr 13, 22 @ 10:28 am:

    Dear Cubs,

Can you start immediately losing pronto?

  17. - chicago pothole - Wednesday, Apr 13, 22 @ 10:50 am:

Champaign life- thanks for the reminder of the great flood of 1992. They sent us home from JRTC on a sunny day.

How many shady deals does it take to knock a candidate off the ballot? This has been going for years. Do we want this guy this/close to lobbyist regulation office? nope.

  22. - Rudy’s teeth - Wednesday, Apr 13, 22 @ 12:45 pm:

Bears backup quarterback Trevor Siemian had a welcome to Chicago experience.

His car was stolen at Beverly Country Club on Western Avenue.

This StoryCorps conversation is fascinating regarding how a Streets and San employee figured out what was going on with the Chicago flood:

slowly acclimating back to the office (last week 1 day, this week 2, next week 3). It actually does perk me up to see my co-workers again. We have fantastic ventilation, too. And contact-tracing. And health-checks. I am apparently too close to dead for it to get a temp off me. I have to warm my skin first on my hand.

Other than that, nothing new. The protein bars I left in my office last Aug are still good enough to eat so that’s lunch/snack in the office. Financially I’m used to saving money by not buying restaurant/meals etc. during the week so I think I will keep that up for a bit.
