Shout out to various news outlets who spent their weekend trying to remix their now debunked “out migration” story after getting one of the most epic on the job lessons in “confirmation bias”.

Tough week for the Census Deniers over at Illinois Policy Institute.
They seem to be arguing 250K people just magically appeared.
“Just because the census bureau admitted they undercounted by 250K people doesn’t mean the population increased by 250K.”
Sox did great yesterday but you might not know it from the second game announcing team, with their East Coast and Cubs bias. what was a big spot on the Cubs doing in that coverage? guess the sad little east coast biased talkers had to fill while the Sox blanked the Yankees. Go TA7.
Bummed that Leah Marlene did not win American Idol but Normal sure looked great on the finale last night.

Crazy Cardinal win yesterday. Matz got hurt before the end of the first, but Cards still poured on 18 runs in Pittsburgh. Molina was actually brought in to pitch the ninth.
== I usually roll my eyes a little at charges of “East coast bias” in sports broadcasting, but last night was really bad. ==
Yeah, you could almost feel the disappointment when the star of the game for Sportscenter wasn’t a Yankee.
Have to say my feelings about “East Coast Bias” changed when I watched Ken Burns’ Baseball and learned that apparently baseball was only played in New York and Boston until the Dodgers moved west.
Justin Thomas comeback in Tulsa was AMAZING! Down 7 shots and wins his second major. Side note he jabbed PGA and Southern Hill for charging $18 for Mich Ultra on the course! Yikes

Great sweep for the Sox. Totally fun to watch in spite of the underinformed broadcasting crew. Kopech is looking great and the hitting is picking up. The first 25% of the season is done, glad to be above .500 even if just by one game.
Yesterday, the Chicago Greek Heritage parade seemed to have more people in the parade than on the sidelines. Nevertheless, the restaurants and bars on Halsted were packed, so I guess it was a very successful event.
One older gentleman sat by himself at a small round table outside of one of those establishments, sipping a cup of coffee, and he looked like the happiest man on earth, just watching the world parade by. I envied him.
give Josh Donaldson the google and see a long article from when he was with Toronto. oh my. the guy is a lifelong hardass, competes on everything. granted, his life was not great with prison daddy and daddy beating up mommy, but she sounds like an enabler. Or maybe his behavior to TA is just that Josh went to Auburn and TA is from Tuscaloosa.

That Yankee team is scary. Go Sox.

There was a better one in which I think the IPI guy just said “YALL ARE STATISTICALLY ILLITERATE BECAUSE YOU DON”T SEE HOW WE WERE RIGHT”

Dabrowski is citing Allied Van Lines for his argument against latest census info.
Because everyone who moves rent moving trucks/vans.

Dabrowski’s next move will be to lay on the floor and scream everyone is picking on him.

I can’t recall the last time the Sox swept the Yankees in a DH in Yankee Stadium.

And the way they glossed over Donaldson.

Speaking of baseball, Roger Angell, one of the best writers on the subject, died on Friday at the age of 101. Lovely obit at the NYT: https://www.nytimes.com/2022/05/20/sports/roger-angell-dead.html

Arsenal missed out on Top 4 and finished below Tottenham again. Next season will hopefully get us Top 4 and a spot above Sp*rs in the table.
Albert Pujols homering twice in a game he didn’t even start is a callback to the old days.

@Justin, oh for a few more wins for the Arsenal. that said, what an amazing YOUNG team. We beat the Tots once and they still have no silverware.
