A bit chilly now but looking forward to a terrific day here in beautiful DuPage County. The yucca plants are just about to bloom… maybe 3 days or so.

  2. - hisgirlfriday - Thursday, Jun 9, 22 @ 8:49 am:

If yard signs could vote, Salvi has things pretty well locked up for the Senate GOP nod in my neck of the woods.

  3. - Shibboleth - Thursday, Jun 9, 22 @ 8:49 am:

Incredibly frustrated with Aurora Pride’s parade permit being revoked. Requiring police officers be present but only on a volunteer basis for private events seems a clear violation of the right to assembly and speech in Aurora. The PD shouldn’t get a veto on which events can occur.

  4. - Lurker - Thursday, Jun 9, 22 @ 8:51 am:

Yesterday Al made the following comment as snark but I can’t help to laughing think, what if he would have done this and with Griffin’s money? Would we have seen a $500 mil primary?
    >>>
Irving has come to a conclusion: he is running in the wrong primary. He will refile next week as a donkey./s

    “If yard signs could vote”

They never have and never will :)

  6. - Curt Mercandante - Thursday, Jun 9, 22 @ 8:54 am:

If state rep. Welter (RINO- Morris) would just drop out and save the embarrassing defeat he’s about to be handed that would be the right thing to do.

  7. - Try-4-Truth - Thursday, Jun 9, 22 @ 8:56 am:

    Bold prediction…

    Bailey 30.5%
    Irvin 30.0%
    Sullivan 25%
    All others 14.5%

    Counter proposal:

    Irv- 41%

    The Apostle- 38%

    Haircut- 10%

    Circus- 11%

  9. - Hope - Thursday, Jun 9, 22 @ 9:06 am:

Team Irvin better get this thing figured out. Otherwise JB and his best buddy Proft will be to blame for this next step in the continuing collapse of the Illinois GOP.

  10. - Ron Burgundy - Thursday, Jun 9, 22 @ 9:08 am:

SullyCoin won’t get more than 15. If I had to pick right now, though, I’d probably take Bailey by a nose too.

  11. - Dance Band on the Titanic - Thursday, Jun 9, 22 @ 9:12 am:

    My bold prediction:
    Bailey 39
    Irvin 34
    Rabine 12
    Sullivan 11
    Who dey? 4

  12. - Homebody - Thursday, Jun 9, 22 @ 9:26 am:

@Shibboleth - The fact that the Aurora permit revocation was clearly in response to constitutionally protected actions by the event organizers just makes it worse.

It is like cops go out of their way to remind people why some people don’t like cops.

  13. - Scott Cross for President - Thursday, Jun 9, 22 @ 9:43 am:

    JS Mill, Dance Band:

I don’t know about your numbers, but I dig the new game of Nickname the GOP Candidates

    Rich, maybe a QOTD ?

  14. - Ron Burgundy - Thursday, Jun 9, 22 @ 9:47 am:

-The PD shouldn’t get a veto on which events can occur.-

Sorry Dr. King. You can’t have that March on Washington because you need a permit and the police don’t like you.

  15. - Stones - Thursday, Jun 9, 22 @ 9:52 am:

Watching the Celtic / Warriors series puts into perspective just how far the Bulls are from a deep playoff run.

  16. - Annonin' - Thursday, Jun 9, 22 @ 10:12 am:

We were saddened and outraged that Tribbie editors trimmed the SOS campaign roundup with Brady and Milheiser. We are certain Miliheiser explained how he rooted out all the corruption when Sangamo Co SA and Trump DOJ front man in Central IL. Dang. Same goes for how he explained his SOS Securities division would not be conflicted with the ‘Riffie Loot. And editors also chopped Brady’s recent voter suppression plans if he makes it to the general. Maybe next time.

  17. - Bob Meter - Thursday, Jun 9, 22 @ 10:47 am:

It’s a travesty the City of Aurora revoked the pride parade permit. I blame Governor Pritzker as much as Irvin. Governor Pritzker could have supplied the parade with enough troopers for it to be held as scheduled. I guess even the governor has limits in his support for this worthy LGBTQ+ cause. It’s really sad any way I slice it.

That you Jed? Or one of your buddies (Blaine, Chris, Brad, Bueller?)

  19. - Pundent - Thursday, Jun 9, 22 @ 11:03 am:

It will be interesting to see what effect, if any, today’s hearings and Illinois’ own Adam Kinzinger might have on the trajectory of our state races. For hard core supporters of the former President we know there will be little if any change in their views. And most won’t even see the hearings as their normal outlet refuses to air them. But for those that may be open to further understanding what actually happened on 1/6 I suspect we’re about to learn alot. And it’s hard to imagine that the former President and his allies will come out of this looking good. Couple that with investigations and likely charges in NY and GA and things might be different come November. It might suddenly be very advantageous for Richard Irvin to remember his tweets from 2018-19. Or maybe not.

  20. - Groucho - Thursday, Jun 9, 22 @ 12:17 pm:

While I agree with saying, “signs don’t vote”, my experience of 36 years campaigning, they are still a pretty good indicator of how that specific area of the ward will swing. Especially for the races that lower on the ballot.

  21. - Amalia - Thursday, Jun 9, 22 @ 12:51 pm:

per Tony yesterday, I checked out that front page of the Sun Times ad with Iris Martinez and her women of change list, including one Water Rec candidate they ID with WRB (fail) and Erin Jones, running against Martwick. that one is interesting because Jones certainly claims to have changed, from a Vaccine Conspiracy PUBLIC SCHOOLS defunder Republican precinct captain to the Democratic ballot. all of it so ridiculous.

  22. - AlfondoGonz - Thursday, Jun 9, 22 @ 3:21 pm:

What do we think of Rodney Davis saying first thing’s first when R’s take over is to investigate the 1/6 committee?

  23. - Ron Burgundy - Thursday, Jun 9, 22 @ 3:30 pm:

Aurora Pride’s appeal to a local Administrative Law Judge was denied. They and ACLU are saying they will go to federal court and request an emergency hearing.

  24. - Ron Burgundy - Thursday, Jun 9, 22 @ 6:36 pm:

Parade is back on after a last minute deal and the city finding additional officers with a triple overtime incentive, just in time to avoid a federal civil rights lawsuit.
