The hand he holds out is rejected, but yes, JB is trying. The GOP hand contains a knife to sever the ties between urban and rural communities.

He was never going to have those voters anyway. The suburban moderates like that he makes an effort to bring folks together rather than divide. In this case getting an A for effort matters.

I know from personal experience JB has a decent sense of humor and the absurd. That’s not an act.
Dave Foley of News Radio/Kids In The Hall fame did this obscure comedy in the late 1990s called “The Wrong Guy,” he goes on the lam because he’s convinced the police accused him of murder even though they actually cleared him instantly. He wanders across the country like Kung Fu (or Scooby Doo), and eventually winds up helping a family of small-town bankers being threatened by “all those DAMN WEALTHY FARMERS” who drop by and tease them about how good the rows of corn will look after they foreclose on the bank.
The Bernie Bros at the Onion still define themselves oppositionally to Democrats. Remember when he and Andy Manar wore suits downstate during Manar’s 2018 primary endorsement of JB in stark contrast to the Carhart wearin’ mere millionaire we had prior

If only it was a field full of cannabis and he had a guitar, then the headline could have been “JB Pritzker tries Slash and burn farming.”

I, for one, am still trying to shakeoff the depression over the effectiveness of that mockery.

I don’t know about anyone else here, but I’m admiring the Photoshop skills of the person who did this.

True, but…he IS wearing the top hat. That is definitely a thing. Surely you can understand the confusion.
- Norseman - Friday, Jun 10, 22 @ 2:22 pm:
I don’t know how the Onion constructed the photo, but the hat is photoshopped.

This is why the onion is so great.
It’s insulting rural areas, but disguised in what appears to be insult to pritzker.

It’s the Onion, it’s all satire. Relax and laugh.
