Aug. 10 is the first day to apply for a vote-by-mail ballot. Aug. 26 is when the state elections board will certify the November election ballot to include all independent or new party candidates. Early voting starts Sept. 29. The general election is Tuesday, Nov. 8.

Wow time flies as I get older. August? Already?
- DuPage Saint - Monday, Aug 1, 22 @ 11:24 am:
And then on November 9 we can all get ready for the Chicago mayoral election and other fun municipal elections

Whoa. This can’t be happening. The 2020 election hasn’t been settled yet.

Any word / reporting yet on whether we’ll see Pritzker -Bailey TV debates sometime in September or October? Are the two sides talking, or are news organizations inviting yet?
- Annon3 - Monday, Aug 1, 22 @ 12:00 pm:
Well the State Fair starts on the 11th. It’s the season.

I wish I had the same voting rights I enjoyed in my home state. Alas, I now live in MAGA Land where voter suppression, book banning, history whitewashing, gun worshipping and attacks on the rights of marginalized people are the in thing.

Springfield included. Basically the city seems to be already ready for the next mayor election to begin with for the past year or so (at least if you listen to Madonia’s show and especially when the new maps came out, with him speculating on a Mike Murphy for Mayor run before he left the GA for the Springfield CVB).

But I’ll be even more glad when the elections are over.

I can’t wait. I miss getting a half a dozen mailers, and several phone calls a day from the candidates and their pacs. /s

Why on Earth would anyone move to a totalitarian state?

DuPage Saint is on it….Chicago elections. whether or not you live in the City of Chicago, it appears that most of the Lakefront will see a new alder. and it appears that those new alders will be significantly more to the left than their predecessor. this may mean new policies for the City. and that affects all of us in the region.

I always early vote as fast as possible because it cuts down on the junk mail and robo calls. Unfortunately it doesn’t cut down on the social media or TV ads.

I’m guessing WMAQ will have a debate with one candidate in attendance, while WGN will have a simultaneous debate with only the other candidate in attendance. /s

Just Sayin. To clarify, Murphy left the GA to head the Chamber of Commerce.

DuPage Saint, Nov. 9th? I wish, the first day to pass petitions for municipals is August 30th.

To be with my kids and grandchildren, Mama.
