Guess who’s really paying for Darren Bailey’s campaign for governor? You are. Yes, you are. Follow along. Darren Bailey’s taken over $2 million in government money. The same Darren Bailey who acts like he’s against government support. And Bailey got caught taking a fortune in PPP money just weeks before giving $150,000 to his campaign. So, he’s running for governor courtesy of you. And Darren Bailey didn’t even say thank you.
More boot on the neck, but ironic too. For a Governor that gave his own campaign a truckload of his inherited money that he hides from taxation in offshore accounts, drawing attention to how the Bailey campaign is being financed is pretty ironic. He can only get away with it because he knows Bailey doesn’t have the money to fight back, which makes the underlying charge of the ad…that Bailey is running some richly funded campaign…pretty ironic as well. C+
A solid B maybe A minus. I always love to see the hypocrisy Cut pensions cut benefit cut Chicago boy don’t touch my farm subsidies or any farm program. Huge corporate farms with low low property taxes. Of course the Governor could also point out the the Dems also helped him in the primary
A simple step to continue to expose the hypocrisy of “family” farmers and agri-business to come down on food stamps and socialism. As they hound the government to provide them more dollars in crop insurance subsidies, MFP, ARC and PLC payments and so on.
Agree that the message needs to be a little tighter but the work here is good and can always get better.
A little more debate about govt welfare to farmers is always fun….especially when the whacks in DC want to cut food stamps. Next lets check the property tax bills

Was leaning toward a B but the “And Darren Bailey didn’t even say thank you” line at the end is such a nice jab that I give it an A-.

These mega farmers claim to be the self-reliant type and pull themselves up by their own bootstraps, but in fact they gobble up obscene amounts of farm subsidy taxpayer money. It’s about time some of them get called out. More people need to know about it.
If you are going to run an ad about who is paying for a campaign then maybe JB should tell the voters who spent the most money to have Darren win the primary. Darren isn’t my pick either but just tell the voters JB. You will still win but be honest about the primary money.
==If you are going to run an ad about who is paying for a campaign then maybe JB should tell the voters who spent the most money to have Darren win the primary.==
JB didn’t “pay for” Bailey’s campaign, though. He ran ads specifically telling people not to vote for Bailey. Republicans nominated him, anyway. That’s on them, and it’ll remain on them no matter how many times you blame Pritzker for Bailey’s behavior.

Ad Grade - - B
Agree with Abyss thoughts on the hypocrisy of Team Pritzker.
With Pritzker being among the Nations biggest “Tax Avoiders” and a person who probably pays a smaller percentage of his net worth than anyone in Illinois this is really a shameless approach that borders on being indecent, but that is the way Team Pritzker and President Elect Pritzker rolls.
After paying for 24 million in ads for Bailey and sitting on 90 million in campaign funds for misleading ads like this one, the state of the race is Pritzker 50%- Bailey 43%, which could be just a couple of points outside the margin of error
I guess when you can’t run ads on growing the economy here or stopping the exodus of wealthy residents and successful businesses all you are left with is negative ads about the opponent you propped up in the primary.
And yet JB is barnstorming the country trying to raise his profile as a Presidential candidate?
===I guess when you can’t run ads on growing the economy here or stopping the exodus of wealthy residents and successful businesses all you are left with is negative ads about the opponent you propped up in the primary.===
B-/C+
I doubt many will be moved by it but it widens the narrative a bit.
At the point when they say, “follow along” people’s eyes will glaze over.
Trust me on this; I’m a teacher.
If ‘everyone’s leaving the state’ why are they *still* building luxury apartment buildings all over Chicago? Somebody’s moving in…and no one I know here can afford luxury market rate rents…
=If you are going to run an ad about who is paying for a campaign then maybe JB should tell the voters who spent the most money to have Darren win the primary.=
Huh? Pritzker ran ads saying that Darren Bailey was too conservative for Illinois. The majority of ILGOP voters said that’s exactly what we want.
To the ad itself, I give it a B. It could be better, but like most of JB’s spend it will necessitate further explanations by Bailey. And those usually don’t go well if they happen at all.
A + Bailey leads one to believe he comes from middle class family. The truth is he has never wanted or needed anything in life. They have millions on their own. They chose to use your money.
Solid B+. Would have been better with audio of Bailey’s handouts…that’s socialism, friends’ quote but guessing we’ll be seeing that after Labor Day. Not bad for an opening shot on Bailey’s government subsidies.
I’ll give it a gentlemen’s C. It has potential but doesn’t really hit home. As others have said, it really needs Bailey on screen complaining about handouts and then presenting the receipts.
C+. Only breaks the ice on the farm subsidy monies banked by the Bailey ‘family’ and related enterprises. But I get it, the rest are not directly running for Governor. Needs work.
=Instead it just keeps the same narrative ongoing which I guess helps out JB.=
And others down ballot. You think Dan Brady or Tom Demmer are happy about having Bailey in the race? This is just as much about defining the party as it is Darren Bailey.
A Great ad, it highlights Bailey/Republican hypocrisy over subsidies. Lots of subsidies for me and my family, none for all of you Democratic slackers out there. Bailey not thanking taxpayers puts over the top.
