The butter cow reimagined
Friday, Aug 19, 2022 - Posted by Rich Miller * John Amdor has been playing around with a new AI image generator this week…
* Amdor and I are in a couple of group text chats together and I sent this pic Isabel took at the Illinois State Fair Dairy Building to one of them… * So, John asked the AI app for images of a sculpture of the Illinois State Capitol made out of butter…
* And because he’s a bit on the, um, odd side, he asked for “a sculpture of the Illinois State Capitol being attacked by dragons made out of butter”… Any suggestions?

A giant Pritzker and Bailey in mortal combat over the Capitol?
Butter optional.

No suggestions. That last pic is perfect, and nothing else will ever top it.
- This is ridiculous - Friday, Aug 19, 22 @ 10:48 am:
I agree with ChrisB. Perfection.

If Amdor had done this ten years ago, I would have suggested a butter King Kong atop the capitol building, with MJM’s head on it.
- twowaystreet - Friday, Aug 19, 22 @ 11:02 am:
Pritzker, with dragons, defending the capitol building from Rauner on a motorcycle and Bailey in a tractor, all in butter.

Which one is Madigan?

Lol. Odd in a good way.

Is that an app? Which one did he use? The AI art app I have used in the past always produces the most abstract version possible of what I ask for. I’d like to try this one.

Someone’s gotta do a Butter Lincoln someday, right?

These are great! How about a sculpture of Darren Bailey tilting at windmills made out of butter?
- Streator Curmudgeon - Friday, Aug 19, 22 @ 11:09 am:
Say, how about a 9 foot tall butter Oswego Willy?

Most people would probably consider describing as “a bit” on the odd side to be an understatement but I appreciate the discretion.
For what it’s worth, openAI.com does not allow you to edit or generate images of real people, specifically prohibiting the generation of deceptive political content. Which is probably prudent.
So while you won’t see images of the former governor or speaker duking it out on the Capitol steps, the real fun is in trying to think of prompts that make Illinois politics and government even weirder than it is in reality.

John is the kind of odd I can deal with because I have had enough of the Mary Miller and that ilk of odd.
This is great stuff from the butter sculptures and this AI stuff is cool too.

That makes sense and probably for the best. However, I would like to amendment my original comment to:
1920s pinstriped suit mafia gangster landing a butter tuna.

He’s also protecting the Capitol from the ghosts of Madigan. The dragons are also protecting, alongside SOS Police, the Capitol from those who have been banned from the premises (e.g., former Representative Jack Franks).

George Lucas and Disney wanted to name their *Star Wars* character after John but he humbly demurred the honor, so they went with “Andor” instead. True story (probably).

The Governor, with dragons, is also sending a subtle signal to the likes of Rauner and Quinn: “Go away.”

==So while you won’t see images of the former governor or speaker duking it out on the Capitol steps==
Or images of a former President and former Treasurer hooping and dunking it up at the old Springfield Y building.

Illinois House chambers with dragon legislators - made out of butter, of course.
I’d suggest an Illinois Senate AI image, but nobody would care /s

Thanks Gov. Pritzker.

Are you implying that some of those artists probably hit the MJ a little too hard before they created their sculptures?
