Pritzker had a so-so press release to migrant buses arriving in Chicago. What was missing was a call for giving them work permits during their stay in America.
I wish no ill will on Tony LaRussa but I believe we’ve witnessed his final game as a Manager. I happen to be friends with a former well known retired Umpire who told me once that he retired when he realized game passed him by. He’s a heck of a lot younger than Tony LaRussa.
My dental insurance is from the state, having retired from a state agency. My dentist is out of the network, so I pay upfront and then get a partial refund from the state. In 2018, it was taking about 10 months for the refund to get to me. Usually, I forgot about it, but I did get the extra interest money. My most recent dental appointment was on August 15. The refund check was cut on August 21. I received the check on August 26. Of course, there was no extra interest this time. Things have changed–to the better in my mind.
@Stones, I think this illness may be an opportunity for the owner/manager to save face. I don’t necessarily believe there’s a true medical issue above and beyond what we all experience as we age.
Sorry to re-hash yesterday’s fun, but I must admit I caught myself randomly chuckling three separate times last night about MisterJayEm’s “authentic frontier gibberish” movie quote. One more example of Bailey’s life imitating art. Thanks for the giggles.

The day is going OK, although the young schnauzer has diarrhea. When he asks to go out he is not kidding.
