The misinformation about the SAFE-T Act is definitely finding a home among my Facebook circle. Rather disappointing how many seemingly reasonable people are falling for the propoganda. Just shows how effective and damaging it can be.
How many Purge movies do we think Bailey has actually watched? He knows enough to make the basic reference, but I have a hard time imagining Bailey as a horror aficionado. I’d love to hear his thoughts about First Purge, Purge: Election Day, and the New Founding Fathers in general. Let’s normalize candidates sharing their film takes.
Normal has an interesting food fight going on over its at-large town council form of govt.
Disgruntled MAGA types who rally around their one one like-minded council member were mad they did not unseat any incumbents in the last municipal election so initiated a drive to change the Normal election system from at-large to have wards.
There’s litigation over whether the town’s election board can block a referendum on this govt. change and the attorney for the MAGA types is GOP AG candidate David Shestokas.
I have not heard if GOP state rep candidate and Normal council member Scott Preston has taken a side on this.
The ball was dropped on PR for the SAFE-T Act. Feels similar to the fair tax, where only one side was out there.
When I heard elementary school kids last week discussing how there was going to be a purge in Illinois in January- it was pretty obvious how pervasive it had already become
If you love High School Football and the amazing concession food. IHSA and the Illinois Pork Producers Association have teamed up to crown the best concession stand pork chop sandwich. Vote open today and tomorrow

This has been true for the entire 40 years of my life. Remember that one side has many times as more rich mega donors who can afford to throw money at messaging. There is a reason we have networks of right wing propaganda sources (fake newspapers, paid bloggers/vloggers, troll farms, etc) compared to a significantly more limited number of left wing messaging activists.
Loving the cooler evening weather as long as the daytime temps don’t get too high. Staying busy, mostly ignoring politics. I’ll tune back in after the next round of election judge training.

Please. Our Democratic governor is worth billions of dollars. Democrats vastly outraise Republicans in this state. There’s plenty of money for messaging here.
Anyone considering voting for Bailey should listen to his “interview” with Jim Leach yesterday. Sweeping changes are needed, he says, yet offers no specifics.
I may have missed it here, but I saw on the news last night that the Bingo night at the Library has been cancelled due to perceived threats of violence.
Limiting freedoms seems to be a hallmark of the modern Republican Party. I guess freedom does not mean freedom to associate among Republicans.
