Amendment 1 is likely going to fail. I don’t see enough support in the Chicago burbs to carry the 60% +1.
Maybe the unions should realize that just throwing money at an election is not enough. You have… cough… a lot of people that should be canvassing for this that aren’t.

I wish there was a way for campaigns to know My wife and I early voted and stop subjecting us to calls, door knocks and maybe with technology in the future tv and internet ads. A person can dream, right?
Been spending a lot of time recently in Dupage County. Interesting contrast to see what issues the political ads are emphasizing in the collar counties as opposed to downstate in Sangamon County.
Been meaning to say for some time that every day I’m grateful that Rich and Isabel sift through this stuff so I don’t have to. I know the blog isn’t the main business, but it’s an asset to the state. Thank you.

We can see whether dominating the airwaves early and often will work for the WRA, like it did for the anti-Fair Tax side. Haven’t seen any anti-WRA TV ads yet, but have been seeing pro-WRA ads for a while now (a big messaging head start).
A little chuckle from last night. A friend mentioned recently reading a “McHenry Times” paper/mailer that was in his junk mail pile from earlier this month. He noted the juxtaposition of a front page “article” warning about “gender and sex development experiments in public schools” but on the calendar of events page it was advertising a Rocky Horror Picture Show event at the Woodstock Opera House.
Given that I was mad about those fake papers when they originally started showing up, it was nice to get a chuckle out of their absurdity now.

I received a ’stop the WRA’ text/video, a Giannoulias text/video and a Bailey text/video with Charles Thomas’s endorsement in the last few days. The pressure to November is building….

Time to look your county websites. Local early voting is expanding to a lot of township halls this weekend.

It’s supposed to be warmer this weekend. I am planning to enjoy it with some quality time with my dog and Traeger.

True or not, the reality is “Can Amendment 1 cross the threshold for adoption?”
Since no polling exists where the amendment stands, at least for me, speculation abounds to where it sits… as early voting begins.
