- Proud Papa Bear - Tuesday, Nov 22, 22 @ 8:26 am:
Nothing on Thursday- just football and maybe I’ll see if my local Chinese place is open.
Picking my son up from Milwaukee on Friday. Can’t wait to see him.
Turkey on the grill, most but not all the fixins’. Football (not futbol) on TV. Food coma followed by Plains, Trains, and Automobiles or some other movie.
Thanksgiving at our place but our daughter, grandson and other family bring the turkey, pies and sides. I only have to clean the place and make the stuffing and game snacks. Happy face emojis.
The World Cup of the true football will roll on with four games, including favorite Brazil making its first appearance of the tournament. I’ll watch all four games, even the one starting at 4:00 AM, as I have so far and will continue doing until the tournament ends. Why? Because I can and because I love it.
Me, my dog, football, maybe a martini.
Shrimp cocktail.
Duck pasta with spinach on linguine, w garlic bread.
Friends coming over on Saturday.
Though a difficult year, much to be grateful for.
Thanksgiving Day will be very quiet around here. We may try to do a roof repair.
Food will be a mix of homemade and deli dishes.
Friday and Saturday, we’re road tripping to Tower Rock and Portageville, MO. I’ve seen pictures and heard stories; I want to actually see and experience the Mississippi River at this low point.
I’ll be cleaning the apartment. This is a hangover from the days when I had an open house the weekend after Thanksgiving. My sibs are out of state and avoid the worst travel days of the year, so I rarely do anything on the day of.
Handing up north to appleton area to see the grandkids and our son and wonderful DIL. While we are up there for a few days, will be looking into homes as wifes retirement is within sight and we are planning to move up there.
Family and MIL going to a restaurant that has a great Thanksgiving plate on the menu. No muss, no fuss. Thankful for all our blessings (banned punctuation)
Off topic but can we talk about the “Battle of Archer Ave”? AKA Mexico vs Poland in the World Cup? Ended in a tie, but the most exciting tie ever. Mexico’s Ochoa saved a penalty kick from none other than Robert Lewandowski, one of the best forwards in the game. Both teams have their work cut out for them because of Argentina’s stunning loss to Saudi Arabia, but for now peace reigns along the Archer corridor in Chicago’s SW side.
