I awoke from the strangest dream this morning.
I was driving home from work and I decided hey this would be a good place to vote for comptroller since I had voted for SoS earlier in the day. I think it was the IDOT building on Roosevelt in DuPage but anyway it was a big building. And very empty.
So I go in and vote (and the dream glosses over details like what method I used punch, paper or machine and for whom I voted.)
So I come out from voting and the GOP candidate for Comptroller is there to berate me and question me for how I voted but rapidly gets onto a tirade about change in phone numbers in the suburbs. He’s storming on about 708, 847, 630 and then he starts chanting a 7 digit phone number over and over again…and I wake up and discover it’s my alarm clock.
Also I then realize, now that I am awake, that the candidate for Comptroller was Gov. Jim Thompson.
Is it just me, or is the SAFET-Act really not a concerning to the public as some media outlets continue to make it? I just do not hear much concern (and I am in a red space).
Five days in my blood-red, fear-stricken homeland was more than enough.
“In the suburbs, actually. All the time. No, Chicago is fine. Nope, not really. Well, I’ve had one thing stolen one time in 30 years. Seriously. No joke. No, I never think about it. Yes, I’m serious. I will — you stay safe, too.”
So good to be back home.

To Cermak Road: Whatever you took last night, I’d like to try it. Dreams can be very oddly surreal; combining bits and pieces of reality into a very messy combination.
And the Monday Morning Bears Comment: *Sigh* It’s a rebuilding year, right?

We are all hoping that they pass an expanded forum/venue statute, allowing Plaintiff’s to file lawsuits in the Illinois County of their choice.
