Curious to see what comes of a court hearing today in McLean County in the latest round of litigation between the faction that opposes Normal Mayor Chris Koos and pro-Koos folks.
This time the anti-Koos folks are repped by Tom Devore. The last round they had his political (and legal) adversary David Shestokas repping them.
Team Koos has Mike Kasper on their side.
The latest hearing relates to lawsuits filed by anti-Koos types protesting that they were not being allowed on the ballot after they filed petitions to run for offices that are currently appointed or non-existent based on their interpretation on the legal significance of Normal’s status as a town instead of city or village.
This is in response to an earlier effort that failed when they were not allowed to put a referendum on the ballot that sought to change Normal from an all at-large council to a ward system. Because the anti-Koos faction was mad they couldn’t get members elected on the at-large townwide basis.

Here in beautiful DuPage County we are excited about the rumor that we may see the sun for a few minutes this weekend….
Friendly Bob Adams,
Unfortunately the DuPage Sheriff has announced he will not be enforcing that rumor because he can read the constitution and it clearly says that sunshine (and inevitably rainbows and unicorns) is a leftist gateway metaphor to mandated non-gendered litter boxes in elementary schools.
A gray cloudy day in the 60827, with a bare powdering of snow on my car this morning. Sun peeked out for a bit, then went back behind the clouds. Bears and investors can pay for their own stadium. Lightfoot continues talking out both sides of her mouth about crime. National Popcorn Day? Does that include cheese popcorn? Asking for a friend.

If we could get the 60-30-1 how about a much more sensible definition of village and city.

Cold and grey in Central Illinois, but baked potato soup is on the menu for tomorrow, which should be just right to fend off the weather.

Just another day for the peasants down here being ruled by the monarchy northeast of I-80

===peasants down here being ruled===
It’s Friday.
Freedom also means free to move.
As far as peasants, the hamlet of Oswego is enjoying the March-Like weather and waiting for Mother Nature to bring the winter very abruptly

Snow flurries earlier this morning seem to have turned to drizzle.

Not a good game from the Illini last night. Missed layups + missed free throws + no defense against Jackson-Davis = ugly night.
But hey, we got SIUC sitting atop the MVC and SIUE sitting atop the OVC.

Just another day for us peasants in the 217 being ruled by the iron fist of the Sangamon County GOP.

Don’t feed the trolls.

Yeah, the Illini are a real puzzle.
It’s a team that beat Texas, but lost to Northwestern and Penn State, then this loss to Indiana, at home…
Head scratching

Any community less than 1000 should be a Village.
Those from 1000-4999 are Towns.
And 5000 and up should become Cities.
