Please make the Mayoral campaign end. I probably get 20 text messages a day from candidates and causes “reaching out” and all my social feeds are full of candidates smiling and telling me how great they are.
I’m going to re-register to vote using my enemy’s cell phone number.
Ice was a real problem last night, multiple transformers caught fire in the Elgin area. Strange green glow in the sky when they blow. Power could be out till Sat for some.

Either that or permanently move all local elections statewide to the regular November election day of odd-numbered years. Makes more sense and would get rid of starting to circulate local petitions for local races in September during the heat of the general election campaigns, and the confusion that leads too (as one of the Springfield alderperson candidates mentioned on the 1450 morning show yesterday sans Madonia, who is on the first of his annual cruises of the year).
Happy to have received 1-1/2″ of rain vs 1 1/2 of snow or the ice here in Forgottonia. Also to see our local PBS station TSPR in the news (via IL Pub Radio) for the great story about offering college degree courses and degrees in IL jails and prisons. Yes, we want people to go into prisons better educated and capable to not bounce back in to those institutions. CBS did a story in the way back about German prison systems that are so enlightened the feel like if a former prisoner does return, they have failed. They don’t even lock the doors according to the story back then.

So much ice in McHenry County. My district canceled classes and we can’t have e-learning because about half of our residents (including me) have been without power since 8pm last night.

I got soaked yesterday, but this morning the sun is out! Hooray! I hope everyone has a good day.
