* I strongly encouraged subscribers to read the Chicago Tribune’s preview of the “ComEd 4″ trial earlier today, and now I’ll do the same for everyone else. Click here.
I consider what I say in emails very carefully, and I’m not engaging in illegal activity. The carelessness of McClain and Pramaggiore is almost unreal.
The Sun-Times preview piece is pretty good, too. Interesting stuff about about Fidel Marquez’s taped conversations with McClain. A February 7, 2019 discussion about how they’d explain the lobbying contacts to the new ComEd CEO feels like it might be the feds’ key piece of evidence.

Both papers did a very good job on this court case.
At least the trail is finally starting tomorrow.
The articles talked about a witness list of 70 people and a trial that could last two months.
The defense seems a bit novel, but I guess you go with what you have.
This case would make a great movie except most Americans would not believe this could happen. Some of the lobbyist’s comments seem to project a kind of “Godfather Movie” for dummies operation.

I’m surprised they’re all going to trial. I don’t think Marquez is going to serve a huge sentence with his plea.
