Its that time of the year for those of us who live along the lake with just the tiniest wind shift (coupled with a bit of breeze) and its chilly down here.
We’re in that narrow slice of Illinois getting the strong northeast winds off Lake Michigan, which will drop temps a good 10-15 degrees from yesterday. In my specific corner, we just had a contentious neighborhood meeting at Wright College about temporary housing for migrants at the College over the summer.
I was disappointed (not surprised) with the minimal coverage the AG report got yesterday on NBC 5 in Chicago. About 90 seconds, several minutes into the news.
@RJRICH17: I’m not looking forward to biking home from an athletic competition going north on the path today. Dead legs + headwind.

Chicago-land: the city with the greatest architecture and pizza in the world, and if not #1 in other things, is probably #2, and the suburbs, where there’s enough room to build/expand and keep housing affordable compared to the coasts.

It’s a great day in here beautiful DuPage County. Coolish this morning but warming up nicely later. Will find time to get in a walk after coffee.

In Springfield with Ms. H-W, who is having knee replacement surgery today. Here’s to a better future, after a long and difficult recovery.

Here in the 217 the current weather can’t get much better. Weather like this is God’s way of apologizing for January and February.

The state’s cottonwood trees down by the Hennepin Canal are shedding so much pollen, it looks like it’s snowing out there.

What’s going on in Illinois is that too many people drive in the left lane and don’t move over.
