Have to say kind of disappointed that after waiting in line for 45 minutes to get tickets to the rodeo on Saturday night, they stopped selling tickets when we were about 20 feet away from the ticket booth.
There appeared to be plenty of seats still available.
Regardless they needed more than two people selling tickets.
First day back to work, after summer break. The teacher’s life I guess, but I usually cannot wait to get back to my day job. Three months is great for reading new materials, writing new materials, etc., but I live for the classroom. After 35+ years, I still love teaching.
Of course, this summer was a little different. From June 29 until yesterday, I got to be a forester, cleaning up after the derecho. I think I got about 75% cleared, and anticipate finishing up this fall.

The weather turned cool here in beautiful DuPage County last night, so windows are open. Most likely rain today, but we can use it. Hoping some of it extends downstate to the farmers.
Also feel the need to mention that last week’s discussion of mental health was a great example of how the internet can be a communal experience rather than a shouting match.

Most enjoyable Sunday at a picnic in the forest preserves. Good weather and good company.

It was good to watch winning football with the Bears, even if it’s only preseason.
