After Bailey attack, Bost flips on Ukraine support
Thursday, Sep 28, 2023 - Posted by Rich Miller * Darren Bailey’s Facebook page five days ago… The Bailey campaign pointed to this roll call (Additional Ukraine Supplemental Appropriations Act, 2022) as the source and this article (”Here are the 70 House Republicans who voted to cut off all US military aid to Ukraine”) about another vote on the same topic in July of this year. * Today…
Roll call is here. US Rep. Darin LaHood remained consistent.

It’s exhausting to live in a country with people like this.

Abandoning an ally against communism? Aren’t these the same folks who blather on about “these colors don’t run?” Republicans of the 20th century would be aghast at their stances.

Patriots and Traitors.
Bost catering to the worst political elements of America, this cult that seemingly is remiss in understanding that aiding Putin is not in American interests… it’s quite pathetic, really.
Bost doesn’t wanna get “Rodney Davised”, even as Rodney catered to as many whims of the cultists and its leader.
Bost shrinking here, again, it’s about keeping a job not keeping the idea of serving your country as the goal.

Only the ones from China, DJT says Putin (and his friends) are cool.

The last President said Mexico was paying for the wall. So its not a fiscal issue.
What happened, Baylee?

The Republican party doing their best to restore the Soviet Union.

Nothing conservative about abandoning allies or help Putin dominate sovereign nations.
I miss Reagan Republicans. What happened to that party?

When people run to be a cult leader, we shouldn’t be surprised when they act like cult leaders. Shameful.
- Mr. Middleground - Thursday, Sep 28, 23 @ 2:40 pm:
Not sure this issue moves the needle at all. Bost is more conservative than Rodney Davis. The dynamics of the Miller/Davis show that a Trump endorsement in that district goes a long way. Bailey needs a Trump endorsement to win this race…we will see.
Also, not a big deal but Rep. LaHood’s first name is spelled Darin.

Do any Republicans actually laugh in private at the absurd hypocrisy of their renewed push for “fiscal sanity” (now that Democrats are the majority party)? They should be continually reminded of the national debt that exploded under DJT and the GOP, more than under Obama. But now they’re fiscal hawks again. That’s not how any of this works.

Right now these crazies who are in control of the House of Representatives are doing everything they can to harm this country’s security. The border patrol can thank them for having to work without money.

The Communist Party of the Soviet Union…exactly.

=== Nothing conservative about abandoning allies or help Putin dominate sovereign nations. ===
As so many of the conservative intellectuals have pointed out. MAGA is not about conservatism. It’s about gaining and retaining power through the destruction of democracy and the values the country was founded upon.
- Sir Reel - Thursday, Sep 28, 23 @ 3:09 pm:
Yes we’re $33 trillion in debt, thanks in part to Republicans never passing up a tax cut in the last 50 years, but making sure people like the former president get off Scott free. Please don’t lecture me on fiscal responsibility.

And yet Bost catered to the cult.

Man, I am super tired of government policy being made by, and marketed towards people who were in the bottom 20% of their graduating class.
Populism is going to see the complete ruination of this country.
- Grandson of Man - Thursday, Sep 28, 23 @ 4:03 pm:
The honest/correct thing to say is both parties built up massive debt and should work in a cooperative and bipartisan manner to improve finances. Fiscal freakouts can’t only happen when one party has majority power.

=Populism is going to see the complete ruination of this country.=
My favorite and most dismaying part of this whole movement is their historical basis and the fact that none of these gomers have ever read a history book. These guys and gals just don’t know who they are. Populism in America dates back to the 19th century and was a leftwing movement to staunch the power of corporations and the wealthy. Free silver was a related effort to give the people economic power. So was the grange movement which was an early socialist-style farmer movement.
Bailey is a neo-theosocialist dictator. He wants a totalitarian theocracy where government continues to subsidize farming.
Yes, trump loves him some communist and former communist dictators. But they are not really communists. They are dictators mascarading as communists (Xi) and popularly elected leaders like Putin.
Anything the US can do to diminish their power and influence is a positive for the world. Supporting Ukraine as they sap the power of the once mighty russian army is good for the free world. Anyone opposed is either a fool or a collaborator.
Yo can decide what category your favorite right wing politician is. They are both bad.

Mike Bost shot a caged dog. He is one of the worst political elements of America. He just got into congress during an election cycle that didn’t require completely debasing himself.
He has always lacked individual character.

Bost should play up the dog shooting incident, it would help his poll numbers in the 12th. After all, the dog had viciously attacked his daughter, and most republican primary voters in the 12th would have done the exact same thing.
