Extended forecast for Southern Illinois has daytime highs low to mid 50’s through Friday next week.
Last night (afternoon) I was out watching the sunset and swear I heard crickets.

Stumbled across the next ‘fake outrage’ last night. Counting the days before the pointy wires guys, or more likely the offset circle guys, start hyperventilating that “dey are coming for yer washing machines”
Can we all take a moment and give a round of applause to Chicago State basketball.
Last night Chicago State went into Evanston as 24 1/2 point underdogs against #25 Northwestern and came away with arguable their biggest win in school history.

Saw that story about Chicago State.
That was a huge victory for those players.
Kudos to Chicago State

Very nice meteor shower last night, you have one more chance tonight if the sky stats clear. Look East between sunset and bar closing time. I find it’s getting harder to find a dark place in the country to watch the night sky. So much sky glow from the city and highways.

Ditto. Caught the tail end of the game. CSU had been leading but NU took a 2-point lead under 2 minutes and history would tell you that’s when a team like CSU would fold. Instead, Wesley Cardet took a powerful drive for two and followed up with a 3-pointer. By that point, it was all over but the free throws.
Kudos to Chicago State for a good win. Gotta love college basketball where 1 day Northwestern is beating Purdue & then they lose to Chicago State. But I do wish there were more games between IL teams during the preseason.

Waiting anxiously for the Chicago Board of Ed to tell us what they mean by this new direction for our schools.
