Yesterday I was thinking it might be a genius move for Reinsdorf to take the team public, like the Packers.
It seems like “billionaire owner” is a sticking point that might not go away, giving fans a stake in the teams fortune would turn critics into advocates and help fill seats.
Either that, or just say you are moving and don’t look back.
Being linked to the Bears fortunes is not in the Sox interest for sure. Only one team needs a lakefront slot, only one team can potentially make more money by relocating to a different market.
The Sox have a stronger hand, and the Bears are freeriders.
