It could be how this is showing up on my mobile device, but appears there are repeated posts from Center Square. One after the other. Isn’t Center Square affiliated w IPI, and formerly w Dan Proft, and with the faux-community papers featuring pre-packaged right leaning articles that begin appearing just before election season? Not trying to be snarky here, really not certain who they are.
“Illinois legislature passes bill to phase out fluorescent lighting ”
I understand the ecological need to pass this bill. I would only like to point out what I’ve said in another post. There is an upfront cost to converting fluorescent light fixtures to accommodate LED bulbs. The ballast has to be removed, and the fixture rewired to use an LED bulb in a fluorescent light fixture. Or the fixture itself has to be replaced. Either way it can add up to a significant expense for facilities like schools, and it may take some time before they break even.
With all due respect to those lawmakers feigning outrage over the prospect of reading a 3,000 page bill, they are the same people who when sponsoring a 4 page bill will rely on a one-paragraph staff analysis and even then present it as if it is the first time in their lives they have seen printed words.
Oh no, without the stalwart support of Grassbowl, how will Senate President Don Harmon ever go on? /s

Interesting that Goldberg is still paying attention to and commenting on what happens in Illinois after serving as CoS for one of the least effective gubernatorial admins in recent memory. (Which is saying something considering his immediate predecessors.) It turns out that being snarky and disrespectful is not effective governing.

Don Harmon has lead up to 41 SDems during his time as Senate President - a modern record.

You’d have loved spending the entire month of June in the capitol as what used to happen before 1995.
