A quick explainer
Tuesday, May 28, 2024 - Posted by Rich Miller * Senate Bill 251, the operating and capital appropriations bill, was passed by the Senate on Sunday, May 26. The House was in perfunctory session on Sunday so it could receive the day’s Senate-passed bills and read them into the record. That means SB251 had its First Reading that day. The House returns today. The approp bill will be read into the record a second time. The expectation is that the House will remain in session until after midnight, which would mean the chamber could then pass the bill on Third Reading and adjourn. Anyway, carry on.

Just a wild guess, the republicans will put out their messaging on Wednesday about ‘passing things in the dark of night’.
Bonus points if they also complain about ‘not having time to read it before it was unexpectedly dropped in their laps at the last minute’.

@TheInvisibleMan — I wouldn’t bet against your “wild guess”

@TheInvisibleMan those are sucker bets. The real money is betting whether or not they stick to the script with railing against the governor’s “Washington aspirations”
