Caption contest!
Friday, Sep 20, 2024 - Posted by Rich Miller * You’ve probably heard the news about North Carolina gubernatorial candidate Mark Robinson. Well, there’s an Illinois angle…  The Tenth Congressional District Republicans have devoted an entire page to promote the event. But click here in case they delete it. I reached out to several Republican organizations yesterday about whether the event was still moving forward and have yet to hear back. * And I know I’m kinda asking the impossible, but please do your utmost to keep it clean in comments. Thanks.

From what I’ve gleaned elsewhere, he thinks he has his own election locked in. Either he wins it by vote (growing less likely by the day, but still in the realm of possibility) or he claims it was stolen and tries to win it in court (which is not impossible to rule out given some of NC Supreme Court’s other rulings).

You don’t have to be that old. It’s not so long ago that ILGOP dumped Jack Ryan because he wanted to bring his wife to a sex club. Of course, then they chose Alan Keyes to replace him, not the brightest of moves.

Even before this latest revelation, Robinson was known for his views on a variety of subjects. The fact the the once pragmatic and centrist 10th District GOP chose to invite him really says a lot about how far out of the mainstream they have become.

Whether it is this guy, or bomb threats in Ohio, or AwakeIL/LibsofTikTok encouraging bomb threats to schools/hospitals, this is just the direction that the majority of the Republican Party nationwide is going.
I don’t know how anyone can look at the Republican Party as a whole on any level and think it is worth saving. Every sane member needs to seriously ask themselves why they are associating with these people.
