Thursday, Feb 13, 2025 - Posted by Rich Miller * Alabama Shakes is reuniting and playing at the Salt Shed on July 16. Isabel and I have tickets. Anyone want to join us? We could make it a blog group outing. From a long time ago when they were still doing party barge shows… Anyway, what’s happening by you?

Wife and I really debated getting tickets for the July 16 show, but then realized it was a Wednesday night, and hard to do those in Chicago while living in central Illinois. Hope you and Isabel enjoy the show.

The Shakes are a pretty cool band, but on TicketMaster it looks like general admission tickets are $279 before taxes and fees.

Kind of bummed that Shannon and the Clams are only playing support slots on the west-coast dates of the AS tour. Was really hoping they’d be on the Chicago show.

The Shakes are a great live band, they brought it the last time I saw them at the Chicago Theater.
I’m glad they are doing stuff together again. Brittany Howard’s solo work is fine, but it’s not the sizzle she has with the Shakes.

It was absolutely ridiculous that schools in my area were closed yesterday. An inch of snow and we’re closing things down. Unbelievable.

Been a big Alabama shakes fan since 2014, somehow haven’t seen them in concert. My wife has and said they put on incredible show

The possibility of meeting Mr. and Ms. Miller is so enticing I may break my rule of “no shows in the summer to be sure I can go up north at a moment’s notice.”
BTW that price is for the VIP package, FBA. Tickets on sale tomorrow morning. It’s really cool how TicketMaster (and the venues: see the price secret until they’re on sale./s

I got tix for night one. I remember running into you when they played at Lincoln Hall a while back. Friendly Bob Adams, tix were about $90 each, all in.
