Single digit temps here in beautiful DuPage County this morning. More snow expected later but sunny for now. Life is good.

Checked the maps on my phone this morning just for the heck of it, service through Verizon. It shows the Gulf of America. I certainly will no longer trust it to tell me traffic conditions on the Stevenson.

Note the Politico note about Rod trying to lift the seal of the tapes. In normal DOJ times, who cares. These are not normal DOJ times.
“Deeply appreciative of the courage and integrity of the US Attorney in NY and the supervisors in the Criminal Division who resigned.”
I was talking to a fellow attorney yesterday and he said his firm is getting unsolicited feelers from seasoned DOJ litigators like they’ve never seen before.
Say what you will about DOJ attorneys — and I have — but almost none of them took jobs at the Department of Justice in order to be foot soldiers in a coup d’état.
Seeing a mention of SIU on NPR. SIU did so much stuff for the eclipse. https://www.npr.org/2025/02/13/nx-s1-5295043/sen-ted-cruzs-list-of-woke-science-includes-self-driving-cars-solar-eclipses
I would shame Cruz for not understanding science, but so many people agree with his ideas that a lot of scientific research is wasteful. Simply because they don’t understand how the research can be applied in different ways. They also don’t seem to understand about how research doesn’t always find something that is profitable or works, but it’s still an advancement on knowledge.

Very concerned about the coup in DC.
Deeply appreciative of the courage and integrity of the US Attorney in NY and the supervisors in the Criminal Division who resigned.
I wish there was more we could do to support them.

Feeling more like this. Hoping minds get changed, as he said had to happen. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vwSRqaZGsPw

@Grandson of Man, thank you so much for that laugh and reminder of the screaming laughing we did in the theater watching that movie. Blame Canada.
- Detour - Friday, Feb 14, 25 @ 2:07 pm:
Helicopters, fire trucks, ambulances, police cars, road detours, water department vans.
Major water main break in the north suburbs (boil orders for Evanston, Morton Grove, and Skokie) has flooded streets and caused sheets of ice to form.
To add to the insult, there was a house fire in West Ridge on the far north side of Chicago.
