Mayor Brandon Johnson’s push for CPS to pay teachers pension is delayed, but drama between City Hall, CPS and CTU continues. So as the teachers conflict with SEIU. Read all about it in @chicagotribune including recent contentious encounterhttps://t.co/Eus6yqT5Adpic.twitter.com/2f4SMEsiKn
…Adding… The Tribune pulled the alleged incident out of the story…
I saw the tweet and delete by @CTULocal1 abt this being removed. I'm a lot of things, A liar isn't one of them. This absolutely happened at the Speakers event and in front of others. It was unprovoked, unhelpful, and uncalled for. It's over now. But it is true, hence no denial. https://t.co/vWx9AU76hN
SDG is not a serious person. CTU is burning any and all good will that the teachers had under her leadership. It may take years or even decades to rebuild that trust, but that can only start after their current leadership admits they have a problem.
I wouldn’t have tried to shake her hand to begin with. Why would you want to be nice to someone like her? Times have changed. We don’t all have to get along or associate with each other.
What Gates did is very disrespectful. Who is she to think she can treat another union leader like that. She’s no better than anyone else, and in many respects, she is worse when it comes to how she treats others publicly. Different unions ought to be working together not tearing each other down. United we stand. Divided we fall.

Ms. SDG has quite a mouth on her. Wonder if she would fling those phrases at the faculty or staff at her child’s parochial school. When someone shows you who they are, pay attention.
Rich, thanks for pulling these sources together! I saw Pratt’s post and was curious why I couldn’t find the reference in the story. Apparently the Tribune no longer informs the reader when they edit stories or why.
Driver confirming it happened publicly makes the edit even more confusing. Surely there’s a story there: either Driver is correct or Driver is a fantasist. Or the third option: the Tribune is editing stories based on the word of the CTU.

Even if I agreed with her side on the negotiations I would not help her. Ridiculous behavior.

But can you imagine what she would have said if he’d declined her outstretched hand?

The weird alliances forming make for great theatre. SDG, BJ, and Team Welch on one side and SEIU on the other.

Oh who hasn’t had a weird out of nowhere interaction with SDG? It’s like being shocked the sun rose in the east.
