  1. - Homebody - Thursday, Mar 20, 25 @ 4:21 pm:

SDG is not a serious person. CTU is burning any and all good will that the teachers had under her leadership. It may take years or even decades to rebuild that trust, but that can only start after their current leadership admits they have a problem.

  2. - Demoralized - Thursday, Mar 20, 25 @ 4:21 pm:

I wouldn’t have tried to shake her hand to begin with. Why would you want to be nice to someone like her? Times have changed. We don’t all have to get along or associate with each other.

  3. - Sue - Thursday, Mar 20, 25 @ 4:22 pm:

Hey-are we not all proud of Brandon’s keeper?

  4. - Proud Sucker - Thursday, Mar 20, 25 @ 4:23 pm:

Ms. Lewis’ grave spinning is going to cause a seismic event.

  5. - Steve Polite - Thursday, Mar 20, 25 @ 4:39 pm:

What Gates did is very disrespectful. Who is she to think she can treat another union leader like that. She’s no better than anyone else, and in many respects, she is worse when it comes to how she treats others publicly. Different unions ought to be working together not tearing each other down. United we stand. Divided we fall.

  6. - It's Just a Pill - Thursday, Mar 20, 25 @ 4:59 pm:

    Karen Lewis, she ain’t

  7. - Amalia - Thursday, Mar 20, 25 @ 5:03 pm:

Even if I agreed with her side on the negotiations I would not help her. Ridiculous behavior.

  8. - NorthsideNoMore - Thursday, Mar 20, 25 @ 5:32 pm:

As Ron Burgundy would say “Stay Classy….SD”

  9. - JoanP - Thursday, Mar 20, 25 @ 5:34 pm:

= I wouldn’t have tried to shake her hand to begin with. =

But can you imagine what she would have said if he’d declined her outstretched hand?

  10. - Steve - Thursday, Mar 20, 25 @ 5:38 pm:

    It’s for the children…

  11. - Rudy’s teeth - Thursday, Mar 20, 25 @ 7:04 pm:

Ms. SDG has quite a mouth on her. Wonder if she would fling those phrases at the faculty or staff at her child’s parochial school. When someone shows you who they are, pay attention.

  12. - observer - Thursday, Mar 20, 25 @ 7:39 pm:

The weird alliances forming make for great theatre. SDG, BJ, and Team Welch on one side and SEIU on the other.

  13. - VK - Thursday, Mar 20, 25 @ 8:03 pm:

Oh who hasn’t had a weird out of nowhere interaction with SDG? It’s like being shocked the sun rose in the east.

  14. - Three Dimensional Checkers - Thursday, Mar 20, 25 @ 8:46 pm:

It’s like the old Ralph Chaplin song “Division Forever.”

  15. - Just Me 2 - Thursday, Mar 20, 25 @ 10:11 pm:

Sounds like a MAGA move if you ask me.

  16. - Rahm's Parking Meter - Thursday, Mar 20, 25 @ 10:17 pm:

SDG needs to go. She is a joke.

  17. - granville - Friday, Mar 21, 25 @ 1:10 am:

Rich, thanks for pulling these sources together! I saw Pratt’s post and was curious why I couldn’t find the reference in the story. Apparently the Tribune no longer informs the reader when they edit stories or why.

Driver confirming it happened publicly makes the edit even more confusing. Surely there’s a story there: either Driver is correct or Driver is a fantasist. Or the third option: the Tribune is editing stories based on the word of the CTU.
