Not all Republicans are gay-hating bigots who want to legislate womens’ personal issues. I agree with Montrose that the biggest point to make is the deep connection between Rahm and Rauner. Not only are they personally connected, an earlier post pointed out how much of their respective campaign funding comes from the same place. Which goes to my biggest fear about Rauner: some of his rhetoric sounds okay (at least the few things you can get an actual plan for), but it’s all disingenuous. Also I think Rahm pushing charter schools in the city is going to help with suburban voters. It would be interesting to see how charters in CPS play to suburban voters.
