* Speaker 13 Percent about Gov. 33 Percent on WGN TV today…
“I was very pleased and overjoyed to be there,” Madigan said [of Hillary Clinton’s formal nomination].
Madigan described Clinton’s nomination as a “wonderful occasion” because the Democratic Party of America has nominated the first African-American president and now, the first female presidential nominee.
“The democrats are coming together,” he said. “They are coming together against the extremism of Trump and Governor Rauner.”
Madigan discussed the need for a democratic governor in Illinois.
“Democrats are like most Illinoisans, they are not happy with the extremism of Bruce Rauner.”

To be fair, Rauner probably wouldn’t invite a foreign power to hack U.S. officals and publish what they find.

Northsider- just read your link and wow- I keep thinking the republican nominee can’t do something lower than he has already done, and then he encourages foriegn governments to conduct cyber espionage against his rival candidate? How low can we go?

People talk about the substance of the Governor’s questioning lacking, and the Speaker tends to get questions like “Why are you so awesome?” Yes, I’m exaggerating.

Northsider, BVR would invite Putin to help destroy the social services network, just so he could blame someone else besides MJM.

I expect that Trump will continue to make statements that will weaken the Republican party.
Madigan needs fear of Trump to drive up turnout.
- @MisterJayEm - Wednesday, Jul 27, 16 @ 1:15 pm:
Mr. Madigan ignores an important distinction:
Many people who voted for Bruce Rauner did so because they were deliberately mislead by his campaign, e.g. “no social agenda”.
By contrast, anyone who votes for Donald Trump’s recklessness and bigotry will do so with his eyes wide open.

Union/non Union;black/white;red/blue- and isn’t it the Democrats who are urging civility and we are in this together. Obama proved factionalism is good politics but it makes governing awful. We Americans are at each other’s throats. I guess we can understand what the 1860’s were like.
