I am working 24/7 for Bill Gomolinski, candidate for Cook County Commissioner in the 16th District against Antoin Peraica. Then I am going to work for Todd Stroger for County Board President against Antoin Peraica. Why? Because Peraica is a clown. Deet Deet Deedle Leedle Deet Deet Deet Deet.
You can’t be serious Rich. Asking a question like this isn’t going to elicit much of a response from the people actually working and running the legislative races. At least not from the smart ones.
But if anybody’s interested in who’s running the Cook County Dogcatcher’s race, stay tuned.
Guess I should have clarified… She no-showed the BETTER FAIR.
The DuQuoin State Fair.

I’m going to volunteer for Giannoulias. He’s running against the Cook County Dem machine and the DuPage County Republican machine… and he still has a chance! It’s a new era for Illinois politics.
Hey, I noticed that Topinka didn’t bother to show up at the fair too. Typical that we get disrespected. Of course, the media picked up on it too because that was the lead story on most of the TV stations. Not smart to disrespect southern IL two months before the election.
Blago has been down here every day this week. I have seen him and his family playing games and riding the rides. They looked to be really enjoying themselves. He almost has me won over!
Anon,
Those cronies are doing an excellent job of governing.

Anon 10:28 AND Bill, so showing up every day at a Southern Illinois fair means you will vote for GoverNOT Hairdo instead of Judy? If that’s your criteria for voting for the best candidate, Lord help us all. He’s there because there are not as many reporters to dog his trail and he can stay in one of those beautiful Hayes mansions on the grounds that is now called the Southern Executive Mansion (funny he won’t stay in the one in Springfield). Am I missing something here but is school now in session or not and I believe he is the parent of a student. He’s there every day because he wants to savor the moment and remember the fair - his last one. He’s thinking he should have gone down to the best fair in the state every year he was governor when he had the chance. I sure hope people are not being fooled by his sudden affection for Southern Illinois. Remember the $3M given for a ballpark in Marion and an added bonus of $1M because he was just sitting there thinking it was a nice thing to do. And then remember that your kids are going to school in substandard buildings, with 15-20 year old textbooks, sitting in overcrowded classrooms, being taught by underpaid teachers, from a school district deep in debt thanks to underfunding by this GoverNOT. Don’t tell me how much he has increased school spending. He can increase it every year till the cows come home. It’s how much additional he gives the schools that they care about - not how often he attends the DuQuoin State Fair.
WHITNEY FOR GOVERNOR!!!!!!
I’ll be joining the most ethical, creative & progressive minds in Illinois to offer real change to Illinois voters!!!!!
The GREEN party is running a full slate of candidates (me included, vote SNYDER for comptroller) Join us - BE the change you wish to see!!!!

I generally volunteer for local Democratic organizations on the northern lakefront rather than for specific campaigns in terms of the State and County elections. I already have done some voter registration in areas that typically support most Democratic policies and candidates by substantial margins.
If I can figure out how to help Todd Stroger,I will do so because he’s the candidate in the most trouble on the lakefront. But Sroger’s a hard sell, except to point out that Peraica is not a reasonable alternative, because of his extremely conservative ideological orientation.
Aldermanic races have effectively started or will be starting in September - petition circulation begins. I’ll be volunteering for Joe Moore in Rogers Park/49 and Vi Daley in Lincoln Park. On election day, I will be working in Lincoln Park/43.
I’m marching with Debra Shore in Schaumburg on Labor Day, but she has a November cakewalk after her impressive primary victory in the Metropolitan Water Recalamation District race.
My weekend work schedule precludes me from traveling to the suburban ares to canvass for Bean,Duckworth, and Seals - otherwise I
would do so.
I enjoy political campaign volunteer work - I guess it would be fari to characterize me as a political gypsy.
alicia, i’ve been to two green-ish type events in chicago recently and haven’t seen any indication that there were greens there campaigning (amongst what i would have thought a natural constituency). is the green party just campaigning down state? did the green candidates go to the ivi-ipo endorsement sessions? i know karen’s from this area, but i saw more of her before she started running (through her media activism)…

Tony Peraica for Cook County Board President, passing out flyers.
And in the spring, I’ll volunteer for whoever runs against Chicago Alderman Joe “No Foie Gras” Moore of the 49th ward.
THIS DEM. FROM MACON COUNTY WILL BE WORKING HARD FOR STEVE BEAN FOR RE ELECTION TO COUNTY CLERK AND ALSO THE RE ELECTION OF COUNTY TREASURER STEVE GRIMM.
I want to volunteer for JBT but can’t - I would have to wear a big floppy hat with sunglasses. I have always volunteered for the Republicans but now too many snakes watching for state employees not loyal to the Gooberner. The state agency I work for would find a way to get rid of me. This is why not many state workers are getting involved in helping with her campaign.
I’m with a small ag related association. We have 20-30 people who usually volunteer for a few weekends before the election. I will send us out to wherever Emil & Mike want us to go (pretty much). Probably, Dugan, Gordon, Granberg, Demuzio, etc.
I’m already working involuntarily for the Blago campaign, through my office where I have to see all his campaign literature, disguised as All Kids, Vet Car, Senior Care, SaveRx, etc. handouts, blanketing the state with free publicity with his name and face on it.
Rick, Giannoulis ran against M. Madigan’s hand-picked candidate for Treasurer in the primary, and is running against Christine Radogno in the general, not exactly the DuPage Republican Machine but certainly part and parcel of the suburban gop machine, such as it is.
–
To the question, I’m volunteering for several open seat and challenger lege candidates — canvassing and precinct coordination plus volunteering my professional skills as I can from home.
but blew off the SOUTHERN ILLINOIS DUQUOIN STATE FAIR.
Typical central Illinois attititude to assume that people are talking about the fair in Springfield. Guess that is the only one Topinka cares about too!
This state cannot survive another 4 years of Blagotics. Every emergency service provided by this state is in the gutter. Ambulance Services cannot hire EMTs due to the problems and inattention of IDPH with the EMT licensure tests. Emergency Management cannot even manage an toilet bowl overflowing. The 911 program is down to one person managing all of the state of Illinois. If the public were aware the of the crisis in just these three areas of state government and the effect on the services they so depend, they would be horrified. Because of these problems, I’m working for Topinka. The day that the ambulance doesn’t come to pick up your mother, father, sister, brother or friend because there are no available EMTs just might be the day when you finally realize what Blagotics has done to this state!!
Snarky comment. Sorry. Just had to get it off my chest.

This is one Democrat that will volunteer on behalf of Judy. I do not care if she shows up for any fair as long as she can administer state government. The present administration has failed from day one.
Blagojevich ignores the part of the State south of I-80 for four years and when he FINALLY shows up at the DuQuoin fair, he’s hailed as such a great guy. I guess some people are easier to placate than others.

I’m gonna be helping Dan Lewandowski defeat Republican State Senator Dave Syverson in Rockford. The district is 55% Democratic and Syverson is useless. Everyone whom Rockford has elected is a joke, and they wonder why Rockford is taken seriously in Springfield. Sure, Mr. Lewandowski is young and inexperienced, but I will take my chances on him, seeing what the others’ “experience” has gotten us.

With that said, I will say that I’ll be working (hopefully) for a change in business as usual, and I see the numerous Blago/Toddler posts as those of government workers doing what they must do to keep their jobs, or secure a promotion or transfer. I don’t think most paid people would I.D. themselves in a thread like this. And certainly, I can’t see how anyone would possibly “volunteer” for Vladgo or Toddler out of a strong belief in what they stand for. This seems to be quite the hangout for political types.

What kind of Greenish event? WE ARE EVERYWHERE!!! Where are you? As for IVI-IPO endorsement, you must have missed 2 of our candidates, DORIAN BREUER & PHIL HUCKELBERRY. They have both received IVI-IPO endorsement. As for active campaign events, go to ILGP.ORG or WHITNEYFORGOV.ORG, we can hook you up with one of the many events in Chicago or statewide to Be Green & Be Seen!!!!
I’m volunteering to walk with Joe Serra in his Campaign for State Representative in the 50th District. Joe Serra is an amazing guy, a great democratic candidate, a family man with six children and a great wife Janet. Joe is working to increase State funding of school systems and a reduction of property taxes which in our district have increase exponentially over the last 15 years. Joe has some really GREAT IDEAS for the State. Amazing ideas, I’m surprised at the things he is proposing. It’s very exciting!
I am absolutly amazed that Tony Peraica claims to be a reformer. He actually said on the news, “The days of corruption and NEPATISIM must end. Can he explaijn the fact his son Marco has a county job.
