TNT-laden dairy cows massing on the Illinois border?

Tuesday, Jun 5, 2007 - Posted by Rich Miller

I had Paul post this in Morning Shorts today, but it immediately received several comments so I figured it deserved its own thread. Ladies and gentlemen, Revenge of the Blago…

I like it. Its sad that our state government leaders are thought of in such a funny way!!!

  2. - schroedk - Tuesday, Jun 5, 07 @ 8:41 am:

After all the ridiculous nonsense in Illinois government that seems to worsen each year, you have to laugh. When things get so sad, laughter is the best medicine. At the end of that clip, I was expecting a hairpiece to fly by like the cruiser in the original.

  3. - OneManBlog - Tuesday, Jun 5, 07 @ 8:42 am:

    Brilliant!

  4. - IlliniPundit - Tuesday, Jun 5, 07 @ 8:51 am:

I added this blurb to the original post on my blog, and wanted to share it:

It feels incomplete, though. We need a scene with Supreme Governor Blagojevich dueling in a fierce lightsaber battle with someone - perhaps young Imperial Senator Jacobs, from the Quad Cities Sector?

As Supreme Governor Blagojevich cuts off Jacobs’ state funding and Jacobs lies writhing in pain, the Supreme Governor can taunt him with, “Mike, I’m your father…”

  5. - S. Illinois - Tuesday, Jun 5, 07 @ 8:58 am:

Actually, wouldn’t it be, “Mike, I am your godfather!”??? (a la the $1,500 check fiasco.)

  6. - Leigh - Tuesday, Jun 5, 07 @ 9:04 am:

    Is Fitzgerald Luke Skywalker?

  7. - Part II - Tuesday, Jun 5, 07 @ 9:26 am:

Rod’s hairpiece twirling with flashes of light and then zooming into space forever would have been the perfect finish. The author could always do a Part II.
Maybe Rod’s up at the Wisconsin line making sure those cows don’t infiltrate Illinois. Cows are good listeners maybe Rod could work his magic those evil WIS cows.

  8. - irishpirate - Tuesday, Jun 5, 07 @ 9:31 am:

I’ll tell you what….if those cheese eating Packers fans and their explosive bovine even cross the border onto our sacred soil it will be hamburgers for everyone. “Damn the cows, full speed ahead.”

  9. - From Northside Hideout - Tuesday, Jun 5, 07 @ 9:37 am:

When pressed on whether the governor would be in Springfield five days a week during the budget crisis, Rausch said: “Again, I can’t speak to the governor’s whereabouts for the next 30 days.”

DarthRod will be engaged in battle for the next 30 days with those dammed cows.

  10. - Silent Majority - Tuesday, Jun 5, 07 @ 9:47 am:

Best You Tube in quite awhile. Hope the Senators actually do it.

TNT-laden cows massed on the Wisconsin border?

Not to worry. Check out Supreme Governor Blagojevich’s astonishing method of counterattack:

Sadly, there are no Jedi Knights in Illinois, no rebel leader, and certainly no Luke Skywalker.

We do have lots of Ewoks though.

  13. - Buck Turgidson - Tuesday, Jun 5, 07 @ 11:48 am:

    Lame.

  14. - Truthful James - Tuesday, Jun 5, 07 @ 12:59 pm:

    Rich

Heartiest congratulations to you and your 93 subscribers. In days during which intellectual capital is severly rationed, a sense of humor is indeed important.

  15. - Rich Miller - Tuesday, Jun 5, 07 @ 1:06 pm:

    93?

  16. - Bill - Tuesday, Jun 5, 07 @ 1:52 pm:

Truthful has always had a hard time with numbers.

  17. - Ugghhhh.... - Tuesday, Jun 5, 07 @ 1:59 pm:

    Quite lame.

  18. - Team Sleep - Tuesday, Jun 5, 07 @ 3:03 pm:

I thought it was pretty funny. But I agree with YDD: who would even by a Luke Skywalker? The interesting dynamic is that even though MJM and Emil have a lot of power and money, most districts are safe and legislators from those safe districts could and should break away. This would be the perfect time to do so.

This is great, it hits the nail on the head. I can’t stop laughing…You can say it’s a sad state that this is how we view our public figures, but really satire has been around for hundreds of years. Also, we elected this loser, so we have to pay when he’s so easily laughable.
