Remember: con-con first requires successful passage of the statewide referendum … then the election of delegates … the convention’s work to assemble a proposed new constitution .. putting said proposal to the voters for final approval … and then legislative enactment of any new provisions (for i.e. school-funding improvements). Altogether, that makes it sound as though 2010 or ‘11 could be the very earliest we could expect a constitutionally-driven solution for the growing problems that have plagued our state for years and continue today … problems that the Guv and legislature could fix today, if actual political will were brought to bear. Con-con may or may not be a good idea.
