Rauner threatens to “call out” Downstate, suburban Dems

Thursday, Jan 21, 2016 - Posted by Rich Miller

* Gov. Bruce Rauner responded today about the lack of support for his ideas in the House and Senate

“The legislators in both political parties, and especially the Democrats have gotta wake up.

“We have been subsidizin’ the patronage and abuse in CPS for years. Their suburban taxpayers, their Downstate taxpayers are sendin’ extra cash to CPS. They better wake up and protect their taxpayers.

“One of the things that’s gonna happen this year is that our legislators are gonna get called out. They talk against the Chicago political machine. They talk against the Speaker. They say ‘I stand up, I work for my district.’ They’re not workin’ for their district. They take money from the Chicago political machine. They vote for the Speaker to stay in power and it’s breakin’ our state. And the legislators around, around the suburbs of Chicago and Downstate had better wake up and start smellin’ the coffee and deal with the votes for the right thing.”

* He was then asked, “How are they going to get called out?”…

“You watch.”

    Wow, just wow…

  2. - downstate commissioner - Thursday, Jan 21, 16 @ 3:50 pm:

Dumb@#$ In our area, the farmers subsidize the schools; the city folks subsidize the township roads. Same applies to Chicago schools: we may subsidize them, but they subsidize a LOT of things downstate, including roads…

  3. - Norseman - Thursday, Jan 21, 16 @ 3:51 pm:

Let me guess. Tons of ads and mailers using the Rauner slush money.

  4. - GetOverIt - Thursday, Jan 21, 16 @ 3:51 pm:

Wait…isn’t the Governor part of the Chicago machine. After all, how else does he explain his daughter get into Walter Payton Prep; his pension investing business; and his relationship with Rahm?!

  5. - Stones - Thursday, Jan 21, 16 @ 3:52 pm:

They probably also understand that although CPS has had problems for years you need to play ball if you want to get anything accomplished in Springfield, something the Governor apparently doesn’t comprehend.

  6. - Anon - Thursday, Jan 21, 16 @ 3:52 pm:

    Rauner is blazing for war

  7. - Oswego Willy - Thursday, Jan 21, 16 @ 3:52 pm:

    Either do it, or don’t.

    This “you watch”…

    Ok, we’re watchin’…

But keep in mind, it won’t get you closer to 60 or to 30… LOL

it’s like watchin’ a high school sophomore baseball player, who rides the pines, then wants to face Major League pitchin’…

    Pathetically sad.

Ok, go do… whatever it is you “do”, Governor.

    Hilarious.

You call ‘em out Bruce ole man…

The more you squeeze Bruce ole chap, the more seats will slip through your fingers…

  10. - Nope, Nope, Nope - Thursday, Jan 21, 16 @ 3:56 pm:

Did your failure of a year in office teach you nothing? Keep threatenin’, see how that helps your legislatin’.

  11. - sparky791 - Thursday, Jan 21, 16 @ 3:57 pm:

I truly believe that Bruce thinks he was elected King. He has no concept of how to work with people. We got three more years of this. How much worse is it going to get?

  12. - Nick Name - Thursday, Jan 21, 16 @ 3:58 pm:

    Schoolyard brawlin’. Ok then.

  13. - ILPundit - Thursday, Jan 21, 16 @ 3:58 pm:

I’m not sure which has been more entertaining this week, Rauner’s performance these past few days or Sarah Palin’s endorsement speech for Donald Trump.

“You watch! I’ll sic my Tribune editorial board on them all!”

  15. - Humm - Thursday, Jan 21, 16 @ 3:58 pm:

Is it just me, but or does this guy seem to make a lot of threats? For someone who claims everyone in politics is corrupt, he sure does do a lot of things I would consider not exactly squeaky clean. Giving GOP members money in exchange for not voting on bills, saying people who don’t fall in line with him better “watch out”, etc. This guy is a bit unhinged.

  16. - Chicago Cynic - Thursday, Jan 21, 16 @ 4:00 pm:

That’s ole Brucie, just declarin’ war on the Dems. That’s some smart legislatin’ and negotiatin’ he’s doin.

    Good luck with that Brucie…

  17. - Louis G. Atsaves - Thursday, Jan 21, 16 @ 4:00 pm:

The Governor should probably call out those State Senators and State Representatives who also represent portions of Cook County resulting from gerrymandering.

Which constituency are they going to support? Chicago or the Suburbs they represent?

  18. - Louis G. Atsaves - Thursday, Jan 21, 16 @ 4:01 pm:

I should have added who represent Chicago to my 4:00 p.m. comment. Sorry about the omission.

  19. - Mama - Thursday, Jan 21, 16 @ 4:01 pm:

++“We have been subsidizin’ the patronage and abuse in CPS for years. Their suburban taxpayers, their Downstate taxpayers are sendin’ extra cash to CPS. They better wake up and protect their taxpayers.++ He is now pitting one part of the state against the other???
Will someone please tell him he is the governor of the entire state? Never mind…

  20. - Oswego Willy - Thursday, Jan 21, 16 @ 4:03 pm:

For a man who clouted his denied suburban-living daughter through Mayor Daley’s Appointed School Superintendent, into Payton Prep over worthy children…

… and gave money to Rich Daley AND Rahm Emanuel…

    … and can’t govern as a Governor… and he’s threatening legislators?

I almost feel sorry for the guy, lol

  21. - Mama - Thursday, Jan 21, 16 @ 4:05 pm:

Rauner is acting like a mob boss.

  22. - AnonymousOne - Thursday, Jan 21, 16 @ 4:05 pm:

Oh my.. how frightening /s. This sounds like someone on the verge of losing control.

  23. - Anonymous - Thursday, Jan 21, 16 @ 4:05 pm:

We’re on to you out here Governor. Stop the nonsense at get to work!

  24. - Oswego Willy - Thursday, Jan 21, 16 @ 4:05 pm:

I guess Social Service groups should start asking Diana Rauner what it means that Bruce Rauner has no Social Agenda?

Diana did Ads, she’s President of Ounce of Prevevtion…

    Let’s ask her…

  25. - Almost the Weekend - Thursday, Jan 21, 16 @ 4:06 pm:

    Subsidizin’..

Is there any footage or audio of Rauner talking at a board meeting. I have a feeling these drawls are a little different.

  26. - tominchicago - Thursday, Jan 21, 16 @ 4:07 pm:

Does Rauner think that downstate and suburban Dems really believe that if they capitulate on his “gut the unions” plans that he won’t spend against them in November? Hell, he’d probably spend against Dunkin if Dunkin were in a leaner district. No matter what happens, Rauner is going to spend in any district where he thinks he has a chance to flip it.

  27. - Mama - Thursday, Jan 21, 16 @ 4:09 pm:

    1. Will someone please tell me how Rauner’s war with the Dems get us any closer to a balanced budget passed by the legislature in both houses? 2. How does his TA & his war with the Dems save the state money?

  28. - Oswego Willy - Thursday, Jan 21, 16 @ 4:09 pm:

    Every Democratic legislator should ask…

“Mrs. Rauner, you head up Ounce of Prevention, you did Ads for Bruce sayin’ he has no Social Agenda, no Bruce is destroying Illinois’ social services. What happened?”

  29. - Nick Name - Thursday, Jan 21, 16 @ 4:10 pm:

“Giving GOP members money in exchange for not voting on bills…”

    And one agency directorship.

  30. - BumblesBounce - Thursday, Jan 21, 16 @ 4:11 pm:

Does anyone else think that all this goverin’ and deal makin’ might be a gettin’ to our Govenor? The images and statements of late make me believe he is becoming unhinged! snark/2

  31. - a drop in - Thursday, Jan 21, 16 @ 4:11 pm:

So he just wants to keep on dividing. Blacks against whites, Chicago area vs. downstate.

    Yep, he is Republican.

  32. - 360 Degree TurnAround - Thursday, Jan 21, 16 @ 4:12 pm:

    He sounds like Rod Blagojevich.

This has been a very bad day for the Governor.

It may get worse as he gets closer to the budget address.

  33. - Earnest - Thursday, Jan 21, 16 @ 4:14 pm:

Little did we know that the extent of his business negotiating skills were: do it my way or face destruction. Even if Rauner’s vision is something you truly want to see happen, you’ve got to be disappointed that he chose such abhorrent tactics to accomplish it and is passing on actually getting some of the changes done in order to…I”m not actually sure what.

  34. - Miss(ing) Summer - Thursday, Jan 21, 16 @ 4:15 pm:

Some of the folks at Dept of Revenue should show the Governor that the majority of the state’s tax revenue comes from Chicago. Who’s subsidizin’ who…

  35. - Triple fat - Thursday, Jan 21, 16 @ 4:15 pm:

Nice Louis, I love it when the dog whistles come out… What are we trying to divide by today? Race? Class? I think the Governor is in panic mode. No matter how much he stamps his foot and wages faux division… The clock keeps on ticking edging him ever so closer to the State of State Address. Tick-rock tick-tock

  36. - Huh? - Thursday, Jan 21, 16 @ 4:16 pm:

I didn’t know that my property taxes were sent to CPS. I thought they stayed in my local city, township and county. I am going to have to talk to my local school district and find out why they are sending money to CPS.

Learn something new every day. /s

  37. - illini - Thursday, Jan 21, 16 @ 4:16 pm:

Part of the plan was leaked when we looked at “peak behind the curtain” earlier today. Mailing over 12,000 pieces into Jefferson County ( Southern Illinois, for those of you who may not know )and at a cost of $3600.

Wonder who is going to pay for that? And wondering what the message will be!

  38. - Honeybear - Thursday, Jan 21, 16 @ 4:17 pm:

I’m smellin’ panic is what I’m smellin. Don’t have the mandate you thought you did.

  39. - Graduated College Student - Thursday, Jan 21, 16 @ 4:19 pm:

===Little did we know that the extent of his business negotiating skills were: do it my way or face destruction.===

In fairness, much of Rauner’s wealth comes from destroying things.

  40. - Triple fat - Thursday, Jan 21, 16 @ 4:20 pm:

Oh I almost forgot…. Governor, They have some pretty good medications out there to treat those moments of panic. Thank you and have a nice day.

  41. - Wow - Thursday, Jan 21, 16 @ 4:21 pm:

Yelp. My plan involves Dan Proft running legislative mailers. He has been soooo successful in the past. I think I hear Rep Bradley fainting about now

  42. - A guy - Thursday, Jan 21, 16 @ 4:23 pm:

May be a bit too blustery for today, but there are some legislators who will be unnerved by this. More than a couple.

  43. - Corporate Thug - Thursday, Jan 21, 16 @ 4:23 pm:

Yeah, from bad to worse for the Governor. From the “misunderstanding” with Cullerton, to the CSU letter. The quotes and threats here seem to be close to meltdown mode. Things didn’t go his way today. Think he’s frustrated by that. Newsflash Governor, we’re all frustrated. Lets pass a budget. And none of this, today or this week gets us closer to a budget.

Should be an interesting day on Wednesday.

  44. - Former Hoosier - Thursday, Jan 21, 16 @ 4:23 pm:

Recent pics of the gov. show him looking grayer, thinner and a bit stooped over. Maybe this job is a bit more than he bargained for!

  45. - Oswego Willy - Thursday, Jan 21, 16 @ 4:24 pm:

Usually when I hear “you watch” in a threatening way, a parent takes away the kid’s SmartPhone, or puts the child in “Time Out”, or a favorite of mine, the parent lets the child throw the tantrum abd asks “Are ya done”…

That Rauner, a success at everything he’s ever done.

    Pa-theh-Tic

  46. - Boss Tweed - Thursday, Jan 21, 16 @ 4:27 pm:

Wow, accusing Democrats of being too close to Chicago, that’s a pretty bold new strategy.

  47. - Independent retiree/lawyer/journalist - Thursday, Jan 21, 16 @ 4:28 pm:

Not only does he not respect those legislators, he doesn’t respect the people who elected those legislators.

  48. - Homer J. Quinn - Thursday, Jan 21, 16 @ 4:30 pm:

when he makes these empty threats, he reminds me of the chickenhawk that used to pick fights with foghorn leghorn. “put ‘em up, put ‘em uuuppp!”

  49. - Louis G. Atsaves - Thursday, Jan 21, 16 @ 4:30 pm:

@TripleFat, learned all those division moves from you Democrats. I’m a fast learner.

  50. - cb - Thursday, Jan 21, 16 @ 4:31 pm:

sounds like things are heating up.. going to be an interesting next few months. Capitol Fax will be required reading to keep track of it all!

  51. - relocated - Thursday, Jan 21, 16 @ 4:32 pm:

Rauner doesnt seem to understand those downstate legislators were elected with a higher margin than his. There is a greater liklihood that the average downstate dem voter has actually met their rep/senator and share more in the way of community values with them than they do with Rauner. The problem with complaining about the legislature (or congress) is that its always “your” rep thats the problem, mine is just fine.

  52. - PENSIONS ARE OFF LIMITS - Thursday, Jan 21, 16 @ 4:37 pm:

Imagine how much more fear these threats would inspire if spoken clearly.

  53. - Huh? - Thursday, Jan 21, 16 @ 4:40 pm:

1.4% isn’t acting like a mob boss. A mob boss would have made an offer that couldn’t be refused.

  54. - @MisterJayEm - Thursday, Jan 21, 16 @ 4:40 pm:

“there are some legislators who will be unnerved by this. More than a couple.”

The same Republican legislators who voted against the increased education bill that Rauner signed?

They’ve been “unnerved” for quite a while.

  57. - Homer J. Quinn - Thursday, Jan 21, 16 @ 4:48 pm:

Huh? @ 4:40: he thinks he DID make an offer they can’t refuse. the problem is he’s acting like an incompetent mob boss. wasn’t it OW who christened him “Sonny Corleone?”

  58. - Archiesmom - Thursday, Jan 21, 16 @ 4:49 pm:

What rabid zombie bit this guy over the holidays? It’s like he had a reverse Ebenezer Scrooge epiphany!

  59. - Handle Bar Mustache - Thursday, Jan 21, 16 @ 4:49 pm:

Hard to understand what planet Rauner’s defenders are living on lately. For example -

“We are pleased with the governor’s laser focus on reform in order to make Illinois more business friendly and more attractive to families across the state,” stated Mark Denzler VP and COO of the Illinois Manufacturers’ Association.

    Huh?

  60. - Politix - Thursday, Jan 21, 16 @ 4:50 pm:

Oooo whatcha gonna do gov, kidnap our legislators so they can’t represent us?

Did you forget they were voted into office, just like you were?

You don’t get to define what makes a good lawmaker, sir.

  61. - IllinoisBoi - Thursday, Jan 21, 16 @ 4:51 pm:

    Right wingin’ bitter clingin’…

  62. - Mason - Thursday, Jan 21, 16 @ 4:51 pm:

Well Stones, you act as though anything has been accomplished in Springpatch.

  63. - The Equalizer - Thursday, Jan 21, 16 @ 4:53 pm:

What’s odd is that, as a down-downstater, I have friends from both sides of the aisle. I have a strongly pro-life, never vote a -D- friend that just has no respect for this Gov. Rauner got elected as the Not-Quinn, but he holds no weight for the gun-lovin’, pro-life evangelicals down south precisely because he has no social agenda, which is just huge down here. So, the people that should be his -R- base down here just see him flailing at Chicago (*shrug*) and thrashing their union friends. Sorry, he ain’t calling out much of anyone down-downstate.

  64. - Hit or Miss - Thursday, Jan 21, 16 @ 4:55 pm:

Is a “call out” of legislators how you shake things up in Springfield?

  65. - Oswego Willy - Thursday, Jan 21, 16 @ 4:55 pm:

Isn’t this something Sonny Corleone would say?

Am I right? Exactly right, lol

    It’s cute how - Louis G Atsaves - and - A Guy - are here to make sure…

    “Democrats did this stuff first!”

(Rauner was suppose to be different, lol)

… and to pretend that fear… is a good quality to make public.

    Thanks fells, lol

  68. - Juice - Thursday, Jan 21, 16 @ 4:59 pm:

“We have been subsidizin’ the patronage and abuse in CPS for years.” I can only imagine his talking about himself and Diana, what with the couple of hundred grand he dropped he dropped on Payton to grease the skids for his daughter, to all the money he has personally given that he bragged about in Bloomington-Normal or that principal training program at CPS that he helped get started that he was so proud of in that same town hall.

  69. - Buzzie - Thursday, Jan 21, 16 @ 5:05 pm:

Rauner should not be underestimated. He has the money and ego to fight an enlongated war for what he wants. I truly believe he thinks his election was a mandate to conduct a “holy war” against the democrats and unions. He will continue his quest until he either loses his re-election bid or some republicans (legislators and/or power brokers) internally work against him and bring him down.

  70. - Gooner - Thursday, Jan 21, 16 @ 5:10 pm:

After nearly a year of hearing him threaten and then fail to move any votes*, it is just embarrassing.

He’s gone into his Cranky Old Man phase. His next statement is likely to be “Damn meddling kids, won’t vote for my pension bill! I’ll get them!”

We’ve got a walking joke for a governor.

(Does Ken Dunkin, the guy most likely be seen on a 1-100 margin, count?)

  71. - hisgirlfriday - Thursday, Jan 21, 16 @ 5:12 pm:

So you gonna fund all those universities downstate at any point during your term or what? I’m a-watchin’. sincerely, downstate taxpayer.

  72. - oldhp - Thursday, Jan 21, 16 @ 5:16 pm:

This threat coming from rauner is double talk….Remember his “You will vote my way or I will primary you!” He should be in jail for threatening Senators and Representatives. If they had any guts they would all stand up against him.

  73. - CharlieKratos - Thursday, Jan 21, 16 @ 5:18 pm:

An angry, frustrated man with unlimited funds, a huge ego, and no concern for the lives of anyone else is a dangerous thing. Please don’t forget that many more will suffer before Rauner is done and Illinois will spend a long time recovering from “Bruce’s first failure”.

  74. - Emily Booth - Thursday, Jan 21, 16 @ 5:20 pm:

How about calling out the Republicans in Springfield that voted against their constituents? Are they going to be called out?

What is the danger of being called out by an unpopular Governor? Once again, a move straight out of Raunerland.

  81. - AC - Thursday, Jan 21, 16 @ 5:34 pm:

Rauner found video of “Capitol Capers with Second City” video and thinks it was a secret video of Barbara Flynn Currie and other legislators rather than a comedy sketch.

  82. - Macbeth - Thursday, Jan 21, 16 @ 5:35 pm:

The more I hear Rauner talk, the more I absolutely — absolutely — believe in the story several years ago that he threatened to “bury” someone.

    Rauner’s a little, little man.

  83. - jim - Thursday, Jan 21, 16 @ 5:36 pm:

Rich, Bruce Rauner is the best thing that ever happened to you and your excellent site. Every quote of his you publish drives your readers around the bend. While sometimes tiresome, their sputtering rage is mostly amusing.

  88. - jim - Thursday, Jan 21, 16 @ 5:54 pm:

Rich, You made an excellent point.

  89. - thoughts matter - Thursday, Jan 21, 16 @ 5:55 pm:

So which is it? Chicago carries the state financially, or downstate sends all their money upstate? I got an idea that isn’t much more stupid than what is happening these days. - let’s all the legislators vote that Chicago as a separate state, and that the current Governor goes to Chicago. Of course, that has nothing to do with CPS - with is a school system and not a local or state government.

He just loves to spout populist sayings without backing any of it up. Never once have I heard any downstaters say they want their kids to go to CPS, or that they think CPS gets all the money . Suburbs, yes, with their fancy swimming pools and so forth.

  90. - How Ironic - Thursday, Jan 21, 16 @ 6:11 pm:

@OW, I thought of a plot point for the next episode. This might be the episode where Bruce calls the fishmonger for a ‘big order of tuna slices’ while using his best “mob boss” fake voice.

  91. - Dupage Bard - Thursday, Jan 21, 16 @ 6:11 pm:

Another distraction. How’s the budget coming? You got one yet? What’s tomorrow’s press conference going to entail? Are your two sidekicks ready with their cliche’s?

  92. - Oswego Willy - Thursday, Jan 21, 16 @ 6:16 pm:

    - How Ironic -

As you know, a “reality” TV production is never, ever staged. I mean, “Dad’s Home State” just lets things… happens. I mean, sure, that could happen, but golly, that’s not “realty” TV.

I wouldn’t want this comedy seem staged, with props, costumes, fake accents,…

    Hmm.

Can I get back to you?

  93. - Stoic the Vast - Thursday, Jan 21, 16 @ 6:30 pm:

Is “Dad’s Home State” going to shift from a comedy to a Shakespearean tragedy like “American Chopper”?

  94. - Poolguy - Thursday, Jan 21, 16 @ 6:39 pm:

why should downstate and suburban Dems worry? they have hundreds of millions in Madigan protection money, right? Rauner said so himself.

  95. - Anon221 - Thursday, Jan 21, 16 @ 6:40 pm:

    To the ILGA:

For those of you on the fence or looking over it into the Rauner pasture, do you still really think the grass is greener there, or just where the graves are? Being “yellow” will eventually not be an option when the coming votes are taken- in the legislature and at the ballot box.

  96. - walker - Thursday, Jan 21, 16 @ 6:40 pm:

All votes count, but the suburbs swing elections. A lot of self-described independents are available for either side, and the previous Republican stranglehold on many suburbs has been somewhat relieved by year’s of hard work, and shifting demos and attitudes. We are not like the Chicago GOP, even though some of the public just assumes the Suburban Dems are a rare breed, in that we are growing, we fight for position and win.

If Rauner wants a battle on our turf, suburban Cook, and the collar counties, we welcome it.

As some of you might know, I am attempting to organize and build a new Suburban Democrats of Illinois into a force to be reckoned with. Just too frustrated with today’s status quo, and Rauner’s failed tactics, to stay on the sidelines. That’s why I wIll be too busy, and perhaps too partisan, to be of much value as a regular commenter. Wouldn’t be a sock puppet, or hide any agenda behind an alias anyway.

    Best wishes to all.

Tough talk from a guy whose disapproval rating keeps ascending after one year in office.
    “You watch.”
That’s what passes for erudition among billionaires these days?
Dude’s all wind and money, no matter how much, does not buy everything. He’s going to crash before this term is up.

===Is “Dad’s Home State” going to shift from a comedy to a Shakespearean tragedy like “American Chopper”?===

That’s a good question, thanks for asking.

(Sips water that was sitting next to the chair. Clears throat, speaks into the microphone)

No. As those who have followed the show from Season 1, we lost a main character in Diana’s state employee, and that was a huge lost for the cast. The dynamic of the whole show has had to move forward, but I think the core principles of the show; farce, comedy, Easter eggs, and pure fun are what drives this ensemble.

Making it have greater context besides what the slow was would really take away production value and the show could lose its audience.

I’m not saying a spin-off might be in the works, or even adding a couple really great new character to “DHS”, but moving away from what HBO has asked, and really wants, which is exactly what this show wants to produce, it’s safe to say “DHS” isn’t going anywhere abd will be true to its beginnings.

(Grabs glass of water again, puts microphone down, then sits more easily in the chair)

  99. - How Ironic - Thursday, Jan 21, 16 @ 6:49 pm:

    @OW,

I’m thinking depending upon how the next few months go, production might be able to gear up on the first spin off. A variety show called Dunkin’s Follies?

Have they checked this guy for dyslexia? He got 50.3 percent of the vote but apparently thinks he got 90.3 percent…..

  101. - Poolguy - Thursday, Jan 21, 16 @ 7:12 pm:

starting to think Rauner’s role models were Judge Smails from Caddyshack, Dean Wormer from Animal House, Principal Vernon from Breakfast Club and the Alpha Betas from Revenge of the Nerds.

  102. - Casual observer - Thursday, Jan 21, 16 @ 7:45 pm:

    “Just wait”
Isn’t that political talk for last minute oppo dumps?

I say call the votes, up or down. No yellow.

  106. - Dave Dahl - Thursday, Jan 21, 16 @ 9:44 pm:

Has anybody thought of casting “Dad’s Home State”?

  107. - Oswego Willy - Thursday, Jan 21, 16 @ 9:50 pm:

    - Dave Dahl -

    With respect,

It’s a “reality” show. They play themselves, HBO insisted.

HBO has been really great, and of like to think that the cast and I have really forged a strong bond.

  108. - Anonymous - Thursday, Jan 21, 16 @ 10:03 pm:

He had hundreds of millions of dollars to drive home any message he chooses.

Only the reckless would not be concerned.

Anonymous 10:03, Jeb Bush has a war chest of $100m. How’s that working out for him? Lol. Money plays a role in politics but there is a lot more to it. Unfortunately the Gov doesn’t understand this. As you can tell from the comments people are seeing that the emperor has no clothes and are starting to laugh at him.

You guys shouldn’t diss Sonny Corleone that way…seriously. this Governor is starting to crack up. Keep insultin’ everyone Brucie…that’ll work.

We’ve been watching. Why does he think the question was asked? 25% of the way down the road and blind trust is nowhere in sight.

  114. - Johnnie F. - Friday, Jan 22, 16 @ 6:30 am:

Recycling bins across the state filled with 20 million dollars of Madigan bobblehead junk mail won’t change the perception that Rauner is a failure.

  115. - Dave Dahl - Friday, Jan 22, 16 @ 7:25 am:

    - Oswego Willy -

Too bad, I was hoping for a QOTD or even a Golden Horseshoe?

  116. - Oswego Willy - Friday, Jan 22, 16 @ 7:59 am:

    - Dave Dahl -

There’s always the “After School Special” or the inevitable “E!” Made for TV movie that is going to need casting..,
