–I think we could safely call that Madigan race pretty soon–

The word on the street is that there was a late surge for Barboza.

  2. - Yellow Dog Democrat - Tuesday, Mar 15, 16 @ 6:47 pm:

Only big surprise so far is how much Dunkin is trailing by…but it’s still early.

  3. - Kippax Blue - Tuesday, Mar 15, 16 @ 6:48 pm:

Dunkin appears to be in Alan Keyes territory…rarified air, that!

  4. - Yellow Dog Democrat - Tuesday, Mar 15, 16 @ 6:50 pm:

No telling which 20 precincts it is…could all be the northside of the district.

  5. - Dance Band on the Titanic - Tuesday, Mar 15, 16 @ 6:53 pm:

Dunkin in a deep hole with one third in.

  6. - wordslinger - Tuesday, Mar 15, 16 @ 6:55 pm:

Looks like the math is against Dunkin now.

    That was quick.

  7. - Oswego Willy - Tuesday, Mar 15, 16 @ 6:58 pm:

Dunkin finally goes down, the next step in November 2016 is Madigan getting to 71…

    … again.

  8. - Huh? - Tuesday, Mar 15, 16 @ 6:59 pm:

Barboza could pull it out. The remaining precincts could have gone 100% Barboza with very high turnout.

  9. - Oswego Willy - Tuesday, Mar 15, 16 @ 7:03 pm:

Foxx… More or less… is in a groove right now

  10. - Wensicia - Tuesday, Mar 15, 16 @ 7:07 pm:

    ==Foxx… More or less…==

    Heh

  11. - Yellow Dog Democrat - Tuesday, Mar 15, 16 @ 7:08 pm:

    === This looks over ===

Because it is. Obliterated. The tribune, Rauner, IPI, and army of consultants should be embarrassed.

  12. - Wensicia - Tuesday, Mar 15, 16 @ 7:08 pm:

What’s a lame duck Dunkin worth to Rauner?

  13. - Homer J. Quinn - Tuesday, Mar 15, 16 @ 7:08 pm:

you’re done, ken. who’s going to want rauner’s money now?

  14. - Bleh - Tuesday, Mar 15, 16 @ 7:10 pm:

    Bye bye Ken!

  15. - AlabamaShake - Tuesday, Mar 15, 16 @ 7:10 pm:

We’re going to have a lot of fun $/vote numbers.

  16. - Oswego Willy - Tuesday, Mar 15, 16 @ 7:10 pm:

===What’s a lame duck Dunkin worth to Rauner?===

About 9 months of utter gridlock.

Dunkin will be glued to a chair and wheeled in and out to vote at Rauner’s bidding.

    So, quite a bit…

  17. - you know this call will happen - Tuesday, Mar 15, 16 @ 7:21 pm:

Governor Rauner, Ken Dunkin here. As you heard I lost. Abouth that consultant job you promised me…Hello?? Hello?? Hello??

  18. - 60657 - Tuesday, Mar 15, 16 @ 7:22 pm:

Any results on the 72nd District race yet?

  19. - Bleh - Tuesday, Mar 15, 16 @ 7:25 pm:

Looks like Joe Moreno is going to pull it together, barely. His sway and clout is slowly coming to an end.

  20. - Gooner - Tuesday, Mar 15, 16 @ 7:43 pm:

Sure hope Dan Proft wasn’t counting on a win bonus.

He will get hired again though.

The GOP is notorious for hiring terrible consultants.

  21. - Nuke the Whales - Tuesday, Mar 15, 16 @ 7:45 pm:

    So Ken Dunkin is gone.

  22. - Try-4-Truth - Tuesday, Mar 15, 16 @ 7:52 pm:

Bruce Rauner just lost the Illinois Primary

  23. - CharlieKratos - Tuesday, Mar 15, 16 @ 8:06 pm:

Think about how much money is now going to be pumped into the general.

  24. - Yellow Dog Democrat - Tuesday, Mar 15, 16 @ 8:26 pm:

I don’t know whether to feel embarrassed for the Chamber of Commerce or outraged that they got suckered into this in such a big way. I am not sure they recognize the calamity of their mistake.

  25. - Oswego Willy - Tuesday, Mar 15, 16 @ 8:40 pm:

===I am not sure they recognize the calamity of their mistake.===

    That Todd Maich

He was either willfully ignorant, blissfully unaware, or just a shill.

I don’t feel sorry, but I’m embarrassed for Todd that he got caught… blatantly… using the Chamber’s street cred for Rauner.

  26. - low level - Tuesday, Mar 15, 16 @ 8:55 pm:

Re: Chamber and Todd- Thats all he had to do was call anyone who has worked with Dunkin over his House “career”
and they could have told him to be careful. I expected dumb moves from Proft and Rauner. Given TM’s experience in Springfield, I would have expected better.

  27. - MSIX - Tuesday, Mar 15, 16 @ 9:20 pm:

Do you think there were enough D’s pulling R ballots to have hurt Bernie? Would have to be in the 45k voter ballpark if so.

  28. - CharlieKratos - Tuesday, Mar 15, 16 @ 9:28 pm:

    -MSIX-
I doubt it made a difference. I think Bernie supporters would have been less likely to pull a Republican ballot than Clinton supporters. It may have even helped his percentages.

  29. - MSIX - Tuesday, Mar 15, 16 @ 9:30 pm:

    Good point, CharlieK.

  30. - Roscoe Tom - Tuesday, Mar 15, 16 @ 9:48 pm:

DOWN GOES DUNCAN TO QUOTE THE FAMED BROADCASTER

  31. - Doh - Tuesday, Mar 15, 16 @ 10:32 pm:

No one says a word about Dick Mell losing his coveted committeeman position?!?

  32. - Been There - Tuesday, Mar 15, 16 @ 11:06 pm:

===No one says a word about Dick Mell losing his coveted committeeman position?!? ===
Wow, didn’t notice that one. Really tight race. As of midnight the board still shows 2 pcts out with a 143 lead for his challenger. Mell might have that many votes in his garage though. And remember from the Treasurers race many of the absentee and some of the early votes have not been counted yet.

  33. - Hard days night - Wednesday, Mar 16, 16 @ 7:01 am:

Rauner: “I’m trying to spur the economy by buying elections. I’ve put millions in the pockets of political advertisers”
