Third Darwish mailer attacks Lipinski, Newman on healthcare
Thursday, Jan 16, 2020 - Posted by Rich Miller * Democratic congressional candidate Rush Darwish’s first two mailers were introductory pieces as was his first cable TV spot. This one is half-and-half. Here’s the half that features an attack, but click the pic for the full mailer… Thoughts?

All I’m seeing is Marie Newman *does* think healthcare is a human right when contrasted with they way he portrays Lipinski.

I still have no idea who Rush Darwish is.
Burning $20 bills in a fireplace.
That’s fun.

Just like your dogcatcher campaign?

=== Just like your dogcatcher campaign?===
That campaign went south pretty quick.
I learned a lot, and hiring - Norseman - was the best thing I did when I ran for governor, twice.

If he really thinks *anyone* knows enough about all the ins and outs and what-have-yous in the various healthcare plans to pick the best one for themselves and their family, he’s a very silly person.

Rush is magnanimous and humanitarian. His mail is knocking Lipinski and Neumann out of contention. He has built a huge lead that can not be Diminished.

Transitioning to M4A immediately is risky and dangerous IMO

Apparently this is the Democratic Primary for the position of Dear Leader. /s

I live in the district and have received all 3 of these mailers. Not sure if there are other voters like me but this guy has my vote and not sure know who I am hurting or helping. I have never voted for Lipinski and never will. Voted for Newman last time but was terribly turned off my her concession speak and demeanor. She goes for the national and out of district endorsements and I haven’t seen her in my more liberal part of the district.
It’s a hold your nose and vote situation, at least for me.
- Roman - Thursday, Jan 16, 20 @ 2:14 pm:
Is this his strategy…find the middle spot on the ideological spectrum between Lipinski and Newman? Maybe that make some sense.
But I’m with OW, introduce yourself to the voters first.
- Quibbler - Thursday, Jan 16, 20 @ 2:24 pm:
Someone needs to let Dharwish know that if you’re not for Medicare for All, you’re also not in favor of healthcare as a human right.
- West Side the Best Side - Thursday, Jan 16, 20 @ 2:30 pm:
Don’t know, the last two seasons were not exactly what was promised. This is the guy who pitches for the Cubbies we’re talking about, right? If not, maybe he does need more of an introduction.
- Just Another Anon - Thursday, Jan 16, 20 @ 2:31 pm:
Interesting. With the heavy Arab and Muslim population in that district, running right of Newman but left of Lapinski might be successful. Healthcare is a pretty good wedge for that district.
- blacklisted - Thursday, Jan 16, 20 @ 2:58 pm:
The DCCC’s blacklist policy seems to be having it’s intended effect on races like this. This mail, along with his ad, looks like the work of a second rate mail and media firm. Then there’s the amateur hour Newman campaign.
- Concerned Observer - Thursday, Jan 16, 20 @ 3:41 pm:
Hey Because, above…we should compare our subscriptions or something and see ehat lists you can get off of. I too live in the district and vote D. I haven’t seen one of them.
- Veil of Ignorance - Thursday, Jan 16, 20 @ 4:36 pm:
I think I’d be curious to know how this mailer moves a voter to actually vote for Darwish. Perhaps his mailer would’ve been better explaining his proposed health care plan and how it gets to covering all uninsured and underinsured folks.
- Bruce - Thursday, Jan 16, 20 @ 7:10 pm:
I live in district and wife and I pulled D ballot to vote for Lipinski last primary. Have not received rush mailers yet. Not gonna sway me though. Lipinski has proved his qualifications far beyond religious concerns.

That comment is just weird. I don’t hear his proposal. What is he for as opposed to just knocking down the more established candidates? Status quo does not work.

Mailer’s meh, but I’m a big fan of that Lipinski photo.
