“After internal deliberation, we have decided that we’ll be sunsetting the campaign today. We were able to do in 15 days what those already in power weren’t able to do over 3 months – get signatures from over 2,000 people that wanted to see change for a more progressive and democratic ward. I’m wishing the best of luck to the candidates that file for their write-in candidacy for the March 19th election, and will continue to organize our neighbors to drive pressure towards our electeds on building a more inclusive ward.”
I was told that the basis of the petition challenge against Daya was that he didn’t number his sheets.

It’s corporate-speak. They never “hire” anyone, they “onboard” them. They don’t “fire” people; they “outsource jobs”.

This comment is silly. You must be able to recapitulate the signatures. This is like having a series of houses with no numbers or streets with no names.

@AvoidAFight not sure this means we avoid a divisive race here. There’s so much happening on the ground in the Toro-Guzman Senate race, I wouldn’t be surprised if the uber-progressive crowd is already looking for their own write-in candidate.

I remember when Waguespack was considered progressive just a few years ago. His ineptness as committeeman really opened him up for a challenge next election as alderman from the far far left. Pretty funny

Waguespack is more likely to be the next mayor than get taken out by a “far far left” candidate. People of that political inclination got the chance of a lifetime in the spring and mostly managed to blow it in less than a year and the prospects of a rebound are dim.
