CapitolFax.com is an online publication of Ahead of Our Time Publishing, Inc. based in Springfield, Illinois. It is affiliated with Capitol Fax, a statewide political newsletter founded in 1993. The November 2023 edition of The New Yorker magazine referred to Capitol Fax as a “widely respected political newsletter.”

The website CapitolFax.com was established in 1998 and was converted to a blog during the 2004 campaign season. It is widely considered the most authoritative blog on Illinois government and politics. Miller’s weekly newspaper column is published throughout Illinois, including in the Chicago Sun-Times, which acknowledges that Miller runs CapitolFax.com.

CapitolFax.com and Miller also conduct an annual charity drive. In 2025, the drive raised $53,548 to help Lutheran Social Services of Illinois purchase Christmas presents for foster children.

CapitolFax.com is active on Twitter and BlueSky and posts videos to YouTube and audio files to SoundCloud.

Isabel Miller joined CapitolFax.com in 2022 shortly after earning a master’s degree in journalism from the prestigious Medill School of Journalism at Northwestern University. She is also a graduate of Southern Illinois University’s journalism program and has been working in and around the news business in Illinois for the majority of her young life.
