Morning Video: City Club address
Wednesday, Dec 19, 2012 - Posted by Rich Miller * Many, many thanks to all of you who bought tickets for my City Club of Chicago speech. Yesterday’s address was a sold out event and I’m told it was the year’s top seller. They had to find room to add seats. Also, lots of thanks to the City Club for inviting me. It was a privilege and a high honor and I had a whole lot of fun. In case you didn’t get a chance to attend, here’s the video…

I haven’t had an orthodox career, and I’ve wanted more than anything to have your respect. The first time I didn’t feel it, but this time I feel it, and I can’t deny the fact that you like me, right now, you like me!
- Quicknote - Wednesday, Dec 19, 12 @ 11:00 am:

===particularly because it was off the cuff. ===
The Q&A was off the cuff. The speech was written. Actually, I had note cards. About 14 of them.

That whole presentation was a lot of fun even if the issues that were discussed are very serious.
- Chicago Cynic - Wednesday, Dec 19, 12 @ 2:00 pm:
Good to see you. Great job.
- you go - Wednesday, Dec 19, 12 @ 2:46 pm:
Great job, Rich! You look so dapper.
- shore - Wednesday, Dec 19, 12 @ 3:18 pm:
considering how long paul green has been at it, all the people he’s introduced and how usually they introduce people giving everything but their jr grades, I thought it was pretty nice the way he introduced you considering most people who don’t read this blog and perhaps your s-times thing have no idea who you are or your role in the process. your opening bit was more entertaining than the last 3 gop gubernatorial and senate primaries combined.

Thanks. I worked hard on it.

Well done, Rich.
Love to hear your insight, and a good “opening” too.
The Illinois Senate, with the 11 votes to spare for the Dems; you were spot-on with your assessment of the “herding crazy cats” and the difference in the senate.
Well done!
- Sunshine - Wednesday, Dec 19, 12 @ 3:44 pm:
I sat through your entire presentation this morning…and actually enjoed it. well done!
- Chicago Cynic - Wednesday, Dec 19, 12 @ 4:04 pm:
I wonder how many of your regular commenters were in the room. That was what I would have liked to see a show of hands on.
