Thursday, Aug 11, 2016 - Posted by Rich Miller * Sen. Matt Murphy (R-Palatine) is submitting his resignation tomorrow. Murph, a Deputy Republican Leader who focuses on appropriatiions, will be the senior government relations director for Mac Strategies Group. He’ll be leading the firm’s legislative and regulatory practice The PR firm was founded by Ryan McLaughlin in 2008. Tom Bowen, a Democratic political strategist, is a partner in the firm and former IRMA honcho Dave Vite is a counselor. *** UPDATE *** Murphy said this morning that he now plans to formally submit his resignation letter on Monday (he’d told me earlier in the week he was planning to file his letter on Friday). The resignation will be effective on September 15th.
