Reform and renewal
Tuesday, Oct 26, 2004 - Posted by Rich Miller I can’t help but wonder what percentage of these workers are Republicans. Twenty-seven employees in the Springfield office of the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation were notified Monday that their positions are being cut. And buried way down is the kicker: Although the four agencies were merged into one department, their director’s positions were retained to oversee the divisions within the new agency, and a secretary was named to head the entire department.

Come on Rich. Who else would get the axe a Democrat? I’ve lived under Irv Smith’s GOP rein for years in Sangamon County. They never hired Democrats so it stands to reason this people would most likely be GOP members. I’m tired of hearing the GOP (party of smaller governtment) gripe every time the State sends people packing. Let Irv and Bill Celleni gripe all they want but please don’t sell your party as being smaller government and the gripe and bring law suits when jobs are cut. This state’s budget is a mess because of their party, not mine.

Just a quick reminder that Illinois has the lowest number of state government workers, per capita, than any state in the union.
