Monday, Nov 1, 2004 - Posted by Rich Miller The Alan Keyes campaign really knows how to target its limited funds. Over the weekend, Keyes placed inserts in at least two downstate papers that I know of (Peoria and Belleville) which included absentee ballot applications. The application deadline has long past.

There was one in the Carbondale paper on Sunday also. It also included a handy window sticker you can adhere to your car.

The Keyes Campaign placed inserts in Rockford too - no absentee ballot applications or window stickers, though. These included “Free Tickets to Planet God with Alan Keyes Aboard the Technicolor Rocketship.” Tempting?
I was pretty psyched, until I read the fine print: “No one will be admitted without having first wasted a vote on Alan Keyes and without proof they used the phrase “sinful liberal” at least ten times in the past 24 hours.
Maybe in 2006, when the Illinois GOP imports Carrot-Top to run against Governor Blagojevich they’ll have better freebies for us to ponder…like collectible Smurf figurines or coupons for Mayonnaise Milkshakes.
In the meantime, suffice it to say, I will NOT miss Mr. Keyes when he ships-out for Planet God with his twelve “disciples” (a.k.a. the 12 wing-nuts who were dumb enough to vote for him). Mr. Keyes: Good riddance.
Yes, Rich, I’m back at it and in a bad mood. I just saw Bush guffaw again on TV.
