Mediahoundovich or a helping hand?
Wednesday, Jan 5, 2005 - Posted by Rich Miller Notice who sponsored this relief drive: **Governor’s Public Schedule** The guv will be at the call center for one hour, from 4:30 to 5:30 pm. I hate to be cynical about anyone helping the tsunami victims, but, sheesh, could this have been more transparent? Still, I suppose if it helps get people involved it’s a net good.

The press release does say that the Guv will “volunteer his services” for tsunami relief, and, as we all know, one of his gifts is the ability to bring attention to his various media events. So by making tsunami relief one of his PR stunts, he is actually harnessing his powerful media hounding “services” for a cause that needs continued public attention.
But if, for instance, the tsunami victims required leadership to restructure their grossly inequitable public school funding, I am afraid that Blagorgeous wouldn’t have much to offer them.

Do you expect the President to answer calls all day also? Seeing Jeb Bush over there in that military uniform, do you think he is building houses? What Pol is not in for a photo op?
